I have a friend who was ordained a non-denominational pastor. He stepped down from that position and moved to the state that I live in. He then was worshiping in a Nazarene Church for about a dozen years, but not as ordained member. He is now leaving the Nazarene Church and the Mayor in my city has invited him to consider joining the Catholic Church. I have also invited him to come to church with me (Maronite Catholic). I would really like to encourage his journey into the Catholic Church and would like to know what books you guys would recommend he read. His beliefs are Calvinistic! Any good books to sway his thinking? Thanks!
 
Scott Hahns books are very good for protestants and those who want to learn about the Catholic faith and how Catholics reason regarding faith.

EWTN programmes like Journey Home, Called to Communion and others.

Bishop Robert Barron and Catholic.com websites and Youtube channels. Catholicism DVDs by b Robert Barron.

There are lots more. Most depends upon what kind of person they are. If using their mind to reason them to faith or via emotions requires different approaches. Meeting with a Catholic who can explain is very valuable especially if they live the faith. Just mentioning a couple of priests and deacons and their parishes could start something that helps them find home. Suggest going on a retreat where they can be a bit anonymous.
 
The EWTN Journey Home series is fantastic, and can be found on Youtube. Lots of great stories about converts, and the discussions often refer to certain books that were influential to the convert.
 
I agree, there are a tremendous number of guests
from fallen away Catholics to Pentecostal ministers
and, yes even Calvinists who have turned to the
Catholic Faith as the final destination of their quest
for God.
