I posted back in July about my journey out of Seventh Day Adventism to becoming Roman Catholic. I started RCIA classes last month
and I’ve been attending mass for the past 3 months I think. I have so much peace in my life religiously now, it’s beautiful. I have grown to love the Church and appreciate it. It’s such a complete turn around from where I was before! I’d just like to ask for prayers in this difficult journey I’m taking. My family isn’t entirely away of it yet-I’m 18 so I’m still at home while finish my AA at the local college. Being very conservative and radical Adventist they are fiercely anti-Catholic, I can’t even begin to describe it.They found out I went to mass once and got extremely angry at me and even accused me of doing it just to get back at them. Right now they’re clinging to the belief that I’m just drifting away from God by straying from Adventist teachings and that I will eventually return to the church after I ruin myself with my own sin and misery of leaving the church. I’ve realized that nothing but my dedication will show them that I’m serious about this when I finally stand up for my faith. I have a lot of support with members of the church I’m attending now so even if my parents reject me entirely I feel at peace with God. There is a lot of irrational fear left over in my heart from my upbringing and it’s taking a lot to erase that and remember I’m not going to hell because I choose to become Catholic. At one time in my life I was terrified just at the thought of entering a Catholic church. Should I open up to some of the team members at RCIA? I desperately want to get this off of my chest but I’m so scared of confessing everything my old church used to believe. I really need prayers for the next 6 months ahead of me.

God bless!
