I’m not a convert from Eastern Catholicism but I know a family who is. They went from the Latin Church to the Byzantine to Orthodox. At first they were looking for a more reverent liturgy and deeper spirituality. The Byzantine parish they attended was in decline and had been for years. The husband told me that their priest told them that the Byzantine Catholic Church was dying (his words) at that he should look into Orthodoxy. Beyond that I don’t know what the reasons were.

I can see that. That seems to be a similar route I may take. I just can not deal with how casual the Latin Church is.

Christ is risen!

I would not recommend conversion to Holy Orthodoxy just because you see it as an escape from the Latin Church. You will find problems in Holy Orthodoxy, too. If you want to become Orthodox, do so because you believe it is the truth. That’s just my 2 cents.

In Christ,
Andrew

It was a catalyst to look at Orthodoxy. Of course I would only convert if I thought it was true.
anything else would be asinine .

Right. The blight in the Latin Church was a factor for me as well. God be with you on your journey!
