Say you were a person of public position, and one of your missions was to convert as many people as you can. This can be through music, activism, whatever. You’re still trying to welcome people into the Church, through your public power.
Now imagine being in an interview, and the host asks you about your beliefs on homosexuality. How open should you be, in answering it? Thanks to modern society, being open against gay marriage would turn of millions, which would hamper your mission of conversion/evangelization.
I know we are supposed to fight against injustice. But it’s “being truthful and losing possible converts” vs. “being quiet and keeping possible converts”. It’s really, all about making these followers feel more welcome.
This might be a strange question… but I’m a strange kind of guy. God bless.
