Hi all and God Bless,
I was baptized an Episcipalian, rebaptized into the Church of Christ, but my heart for the last four years has been drawing me to the Catholic faith. I have been studying for the last four year so it is not something that is on a whim. I have been going to a small church for a month now. I have not talked to the priest yet of my intentions.
Here’s my delima. I am divorced and remarried to a man who is divorced. He was married in the Catholic Church. My desire is to received Holy Communion. (Eventurally). It makes me sad to think that I would be deprived of receiving Jesus. I know my husband would have to have his marriage annulled. Would I also have to get my marriage annulled. (They were both unholy marriages).
I know I will talk to the priest about this. I just want some other validation.
I believe I am were God wants me to be. He sent me St. Therese to guide me along my way (Literally) at a time when I was not even thinking of becoming Catholic.

Both of your prior marriages would have to be investigated for validity/nullity.

Do go talk to your priest.
 
Okay, validation you got! Because the annulment process can take a while the sooner you talk to the priest the sooner you can get moving on this. I will keep you in my prayers!

Can’t say much more that the first poster. You’re on the right track.

One thing to remember is that the CC does respect marriages performed in other Christian denominations. If your first marriage was in an Episcopalian church, or a Church of Christ, they will look at that. And yes, they will definitely look at your husbands marriage if performed in a Catholic Church. Talk to your priest.

One thing I’ve learned in teaching RCIA and working with people who needed to go through the process of determining the sacramental nature of previous marriages, is that the truth always seems to win out in the end … eventually.
