Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) is characterized by “…a pervasive pattern of disregard for, and violation of, the rights of others that begins in childhood or early adolescence and continues into adulthood.” People with this condition are known for engaging in behaviours that most of us would find immoral. For those that don’t have a DSM manual handy here are some of the characteristics from Wikipedia (page here).

There’s also indications that such a person may totally lack a sense of empathy. The person may be able to predict a typical response that a person may have to an interaction the person may not be able to relate to it. When being treated such a person may imitate making progress to accelerate getting out of treatment but may not be making actual internal changes. So treating them can be difficult.
Within these forums and else where I’ve often heard stated that people with behaviours that in my opinion seem to match those of a person with ASPD are not likely to be convinced by secular arguments. I’m not inclined to disagree with that. But I wonder whether religiously inspired techniques would show to be more effective or if such individuals are hard to treat in general. I’ve not yet found information on this yet, so I want to see if any one had any thoughts.
