Blessings,
Google this but it says in Leviticus NOT to be tattoo’d.
God bless you

It also says that I cannot eat bacon.

With his death on the Cross, Christ did away with the Mosaic law

And if I can’t dang well eat bacon, I’m becoming Episcopal.

That’s clever Macmillan and correct. I stand corrected. BUT, I’m an old lady w granddaughters getting tattoos. It was cool on old sailors. I had an uncle that had 28.
God bless him. An Atheist tweeter had that in his note.

The verse in Leviticus is condemning the pagan ritual of “cutting/marking marking for the dead.” (Paraphrased.) It’s not condemning tattoos in general, it’s merely condemning the pagan ritual that comes along with it. Now, the Israelites were probably not allowed to have any tattoos, but that’s because it could cause scandal if others thought they were doing it for pagan rituals. Remember that the Israelites were surrounded by pagans everywhere, and in order to “set them apart” from the pagans, they had very strict diet and clothing laws.
This was also my knowledge on this.
To add, tattoos are not done under the same bad hygienical circumstances than back then. So, the argument of “not harming the body in a grave way” is not very strong. Not more than making earrings.

It’s cool, but IMO, a tattoo needs to be able to be covered by an oxford shirt- So, no hands/lower wrists/neck/face.
Otherwise, its too trashy/gangstery for me.

Personal opinion. A tattoo on a 19 year old lad with a good body can look really good. Its doen’t look so good when the same guy gets to 45 and has gone a bit saggy.

In egypt there´s a tradition of tattoos among christians. If I remeber correctly, it was about crosses on the hands. Not really practicable for most of us, but nice to check out. I have some tattoos with archaeological background, nothing religious, but before my conversion. I like them still very much. If I would go for a christian motive, I would like a psalm as calliraphy.

Yeah. That’s why, if I get one, I’m getting a simple, black and while, outline-based one. They age better.

Hey, Max,
You can eat all the bacon you want. I didn’t study Leviticus. Felt it had to do w pagan practice. Still hopedbit would be a NONO. My daughter has a huge drsgon in her back. I’m overweight. So much for self control.

I would never get a tattoo, but that is just me.
I don’t know how tattoo prices work but the top ones look kind of expensive since they are so big.

I love that rosary tattoo, so well-done.

@alice24, many years ago I worked with an Egyptian doctor and I remember that he had a small cross tattoo on the inside of his wrist. Now I understand why he had that, thanks for posting.

Iv always wanted to get the Chi Rho tattooed at some point, a small one however, I wouldn’t want something massive

I am not so cool with tattoos, but it is your body so who am I to say. The Bible does say that Your Body is your Temple so why mark it up. My brother-in-law had a naked woman on his arm and every time he flexed a muscle the naked woman would ‘dance.’ That was not cool. My father had a small tattoo on each arm but one had my mothers name on it and the other had a small patriotic picture and saying. They were small. So just saying.
