Cest has a very quirky sense of humor. Prior to his entering postgraduate studies, he was very active on these fora. His “over the top” sense of sarcastic humor is just that - hyperbole. If we Americans did not bomb the Imperial Palace in Japan during WWII, do you honestly think we would be so incredibly stupid as to bomb Mecca?

I’d prefer to see what Father cestusdei says for his own opinions, and so I’ll wait patiently for his reply.
 
No I don’t think nuclear weapons are funny. Nor have I appreciated the cavalier treatment of 9/11 on some of these threads. But if I don’t wear my “heart on my sleeve” about 9/11, why then are you wearing yours over what was an obvious attempt at sarcasm? Hoist the Jolly Roger, Pro. Your English is very good but you are neither American nor Catholic. The vast overwhelming majority of Americans understand sarcasm and hyperbole when they see it - another chink in your deception.

Okay, so you two posts ago, you said cestusdei was joking when he talked about Nuking mecca and medina. Now you’re saying it’s not funny. What am I missing here?

You question me. Well I have questioned you. You still refuse to state that you don’t believe in Muhammed or the quran. There is an unanswered question. I will make you a deal. You can start a thread on my nuclear opinions and I will answer everything you want to know. IF you state that Muhammed is not a prophet and the quran is not the word of God. Deal?

No deal. My religion has been stated repeatedly, and I’m not going to insult someone else’s religion to satisfy your demands.

You claim to be a Priest, yet you won’t answer questions about the relationship between your own statements and the Authority of the Church. I can only assume you are pulling this ploy because you have no justification whatsoever, and looking over the teachings of the Church, I’m quite convinced of that.

Supporting the use of Nuclear weapons is wrong, and bashing Islam is wrong. If you are a Priest, you should not be doing either.
 
If you’re a Catholic you should have no problem saying you don’t believe in Muhammed and the quran. That would be a fact not an insult. You won’t do it because you are a Muslim.

Conspicuously missing is your statement on bashing Islam and nuclear weapons as a priest.

I am Catholic. I believe in the divinity of Christ. I also believe my Church teaches me that I should not bash muslims.

Now, father, can you please explain to us why you have a different view of the Church teachings, and provide support for this view of yours on muslims and nuclear weapons?
 
whats wrong discussing other religions and say that others are false especially Islam, only muslims who never accepted diversity and pluralism. everyone must in one voice, everyone must not insult islam and muhammad…

stating your faith to jesus is not an insult to the muslims. but then… you are a truely muslim. 😛

Here’s the issue: You are demanding that I do something which as far as I can tell, the teachings of the Vatican prohibit, namely, bashing Islam and focusing on differences instead of similarities.

If you want me to do otherwise, as a Priest, how come you refuse to provide support and explanation for your demand? You should be happy to explain your teachings based on the Authoritative works of the Church. If there is any such teaching that I should bash muslims, then I just might have to reconsider my stance, but as I see it now, you are a Priest who is denying the authority of the Vatican.

As such, I have no obligation to follow your demands. Of course, the whole point of my asking was to see what authority you may have for these demands, assaults on islam, and statements about nuclear weapons.

Of course we don’t believe those things since we are not Muslims but Christians. Do you think the Pope would hesitate to say it? Of course not. He would have no problem doing so. I really don’t see what the big deal is…if you are really a Catholic.

And if you were a Catholic, you would have addressed him as Father even if you don’t believe he is a priest. (P.S. BTW we don’t capitalize Priest). You say you are Catholic and yet you will not type even the simplest “Jesus is Lord”. You say you are American and yet you are not upset by the horrors of 9/11. Quack, quack muslim duck.

And you’re trying to bait me. Muslims think disagreeing with them is bashing. They think that if we respond to their attacks of wmd with our own wmd then it would be wrong. And they are willing to deceive others to spread their faith by pretending to be Christians. Muslims can say they “believe in Jesus” too. These 3 responses show why I don’t trust you. You act just like they do and misrepresent our faith and what I have said. I will likewise ignore your attempts to goad me. Why, Father! I’m shocked! We all know that Islam is a religion of peace. The Copts must have done something to warrant such persecution. That’s why in the seventh century AD those peaceful muslims swept out of Arabia and conquered Egypt, Libiya and Tunisia (aka where the Vandals ended up), and Visigothic Spain before being stopped by the MEROVINGIAN Franks.
 
Bashing muslims, pro? Hey podnah, it ain’t western Christians flying jets into buildings or blowing themselves up in Moslem countries. Care to explain that?
