Would it be acceptable for a Coptic Orthodox Church to use a Roman Catholic Church to hold their services or Masses? I
Yes, it is allowed. In a nearby town the anglophone Catholics “borrowed” the United church for their Mass. So it cuts both ways.I don’t know that I have an objection. I was just wondering if other churches were allowed to use a parish for their services.
i wish we could bring ALL of our coptic orthodox brethren here to the USA to worship in peace and to pray for the souls of their (our) slaughtered martyrsOP, did you really suspect that our Coptic Orthodox brothers would be barred from using a Catholic Church? I hope not.
Coptic Orthodox are of the Alexandrian rite, but are not in communion with Rome. It’s happened in our area. The Monsignor considered it a kindness. This was for other Catholic Churches while they were building of course. The other denom’s (Baptists, Methodists, etc) were free to use our parish hall. And many many churches did this. When you’re in a rural area, people have few options.
If the Coptics are part of the Alexandrian Rite, they are in full communion with the Roman Church.
Under certain conditions, yes.Would it be acceptable for a Coptic Orthodox Church to use a Roman Catholic Church to hold their services or Masses? I
