Cor Jesu, Caritatis Victima

Hi everyone,

I’d like to know what the name is of the hymn/chant that starts “Cor Jesu, caritatis victima, venite adoremus…” It’s usually sung during communion, and is so hauntingly moving that I can’t get it out of my head. And secondly, is there a link to hear that hymn/chant being sung somewhere on the internet? The only one I could find was this one: youtube.com/watch?v=Xx33NiZO8Lc

It is “The Litany of the Sacred Heart”. It is absolutely beautiful! I love it. You can hear (and watch) it in its entirety on EWTN. 🙂

It doesn’t have a specific title. Probably most would call it “Cor Jesu, Caritatis Victima.” And I’m not aware of another recording of it, unfortunately.

No, the Litany of the Sacred Heart is something different.
 
You’re welcome Palomas! Even though I’m incorrect about the name of the hymn, if you want to hear it, watch The Litany of the Sacred Heart on EWTN. During the procession/entrance, they sing the hymn you were asking about! Then they pray the Litany of course.
