For those a little more averse to traditional minded interpretations and reactions to current events, Fr. Mark touches on a few themes in a more PC friendly, yet faith-centered manner.

Sadly, Taylor Marshall is no longer a trustworthy source for me. I’ve appreciated some of his informative videos in the past. But he’s become an alarmist who profits from capitalizing on Church scandals (real or imagined). As for The Catholic Traveler, he argued that it made no sense that the Church ended public Masses while people could still congregate in bars and restaurants. His videos and commentary have furthered the faulty view that somehow public Masses being cancelled are a sign of modernism in the Church, a sign of the end times, a sign that the pope isn’t really Catholic, etc. Italy has since followed suit and taken strong measures against the virus spreading further. So much for conspiracy theories.

Personally, I think that the Church is just leading the charge on this. If the Church has to be the first to say “we’re not encouraging large public gatherings, even our own”, then we’re just ahead of the world (as usual):

But, not good for headlines and web traffic, I suppose.

And yet not as slanderous and unauthoritative as what those characters were speaking.
If nothing else, Dr. Marshall holds respectable academic credentials and accomplishments. Yet he has less authority than you? . . .
Their ideology sounds like Scientology telling people not to listen to medical authorities because their faith in Scientology is all they need.
You said that you turned it off as soon as you heard something you didn’t like so…
“Respectable academic credentials?” Josef Goebbels had an earned doctorate from the University of Heidelberg. Thoughts on his “authority?”

I listen to Taylor off and on. But I sometimes have to be a bit arm’s length, and this is going to be one of those times.

I guess when I hear the outcry from the traditionalist wing about the masses being shut down, I can’t help but find it a bit rich that they’re expressing concern, considering all the constant turning their noses up at the Novus Ordo they usually do. I guess now they’re acknowledging that they actually do see some value in it beyond the occasional reluctant acknowledgment that it’s a valid Mass. I’d find it easier to take the traditionalist outrage to heart if they showed just a little more respect for all forms of the Mass. I support and prefer traditional liturgies but I also understand that generally, most people just don’t have that luxury, and it’s this kind of elitism that makes me pull back from the traditionalism that I often am drawn to. If there wasn’t a constant turning up of their noses at the common Catholic way of life and worship coming from their podcast, then I’d maybe be a little bit more on board with this episode and their taking of umbrage at said way of life and worship being interrupted.
