Coronavirus hospital data will now be sent to Trump administration instead of CDC

Just because you disagree with the CDC does not make them political.
I didnt say it was because I disagreed with them. It was their natural growth pattern into political areas.

They used to focus on infectious diseases. Study which ones were out there and how to beat them. Hardly political.

They still do that, but that is a small part of what they do as they have expanded into things that are increasingly political.

Has nothing to do with agreeance, just a fact.

The areas you listed are no more political than infectious diseases. Regardless, the issue at hand is infectious disease. That the current administration is responsible for politicizing even that!

Using NHTSA information to recommend acceptable speed limits is certainly more “political” than studying the binding sites of the Ebola virus.
Regardless, the issue at hand is infectious disease.
It is also shutting down the economy, which has enormous political consequences (and I dont mean just who gets elected).
That the current administration is responsible for politicizing even that!
Well, that is what the mainstream media is spoon feeding people. HHS says otherwise.

1000 new cases.
total of 77000

That means it increased by a little over 1.3%

This is not a ‘shattered’ record.
It may be a record, but it is hardly ‘shattered’.

In more likelihood, Trump doesn’t want some information going to the public that may damage his reelection chances. 140,000 dead Americans now.
Yes. Looks like the U.S. has slipped from 9th to 11th in the deaths per capita from Covid19. Probably will slip further as time goes on. But we sure wouldn’t want the public to know that. I am sure the MSM will endeavor to keep it quiet, as it is their duty to hide anything that could be taken as favorable to Trump.

And I am sure that the Breitbart and Tucker and Limbaugh will try to hide everything that is not beneficial to trump.

I never see Breitbart or hear Limbaugh, so I wouldn’t know about them. Sometimes I see Carlson and he does not hesitate to criticize Trump if he thinks he has reason to do it. I have seen him do it when nobody else did. So your judgment of him is way off.

You sure know the talking points well.
I say things I think make sense. I don’t need somebody’s “talking points” to think. We are still allowed to do that, I believe, at least until the left takes overcompletely and prohibits it.

I can’t answer for the “whole right wing media”, and don’t pretend to.

I’ll have to look for cases where you make the point before I hear it elsewhere.
I’ll save you the trouble. If you look back through the CAF archives, you will see that I condemned the war in Afghanistan before either Repubs or Dems did; years before.

Also, you will find that I have said for years that neither party does anything for the truly poor. I have been saying that before the Repubs ever tumbled to it, and many still don’t.

You will find that I have argued in favor of greatly increasing SSI benefits, which neither party or its spokespersons do, to this day.

I could go on, but I won’t. Now, what do you espouse that the Dem party or its media doesn’t.?

This began with you in post 72, pardner. I’ll grant it was foolish of me to follow it.

you request that those get deleted.
Actually I don’t flag posts for being off topic. i’m as guilty as the next person and get flagged and deleted for it from time to time. I have warned others about that hazard in the past.

For all I know, you’re the one who did it. No sir, I did not. If I had, I would admit it, but as I think anyone could tell you and you could tell yourself, I never object to going off topic and do it myself without thinking about it quite frequently. If you scrolled up, you would have seen that another poster said something about being off topic. That concerned me, so I issued what I thought was a friendly warning. Might have been a different thread, but I think it was this one.

But think what you want to think about me.

I think it’s pretty plain that I was referring to someone else’s complaint. I merely added that I thought that person was right. We did go off topic. That does not mean I thought that person flagged it or asked for deletions. I doubt it.

I have deleted my own posts before. Second thoughts and all. But this was the first time I did because of topicality. Normally I don’t realize the thread has drifted until I get flagged for it or someone warns about it.

LeafByNiggle . . .
There was a good interview yesterday on PBS with one of the four previous CDC directors that all agreed that in all their years of experience they have never seen the CDC so politicized as it is now. In the past, the CDC was always seen as non-political, and it was respected . . .
Excellent points and good resaons to remove from the CDC something that they have failed at (and perhaps TRIED to fail if your assertions of radical politicization of the CDC are correct).

I would say it is a good reason to remove a President who has made the CDC into a political football. We can do without him better than we can do without the CDC, which provides essential information to the medical community.

It is exactly because it has NOT provided accurate information to the medical community that it has been fired from keeping the Covid numbers. When even the Atlantic calls them out for it, you know they deserved being fired.
