What is the traditional Catholic teaching on ‘aiding’ illegals?
I know we are supposed to feed the hungry, clothe the naked but as catholics shouldn’t we ‘help’ people be law-abiding?
Should we help by making people self-sufficient instead of condoning ‘wrong’ and hence perpetuating what is not right?

you won’t find a Catholic traditional teaching on “illegals” because immigrants only became “illegals” when the US passed its first racist immigration laws early in the last century. You will find the biblical injunction to aid immigrants in many places, and if you do that scriptural research you will also find that oppressing the migrant and homeless is one of the sins that cries out to heaven for vengeance.

Of course to many moderns who label themselves “traditional Catholic” or"conservative Christian" the biblical injunction to care for the migrant, the widow and the orphan applies only to those not of Hispanic descent.
