  1. Anyone here who will go to a Eucharistic Procession today? I cannot go due to family matters though I want to. But I might attend Vespers later in the Convent of the Pink Sisters with Benediction after it.
  2. Was the Sequence sung or recited? According to the Long Form (Lauda Sion) or the Short Form? (Ecce Panis Angelorum)

My parish did the short version “Lo… the angels food…” before the Gospel but no procession at the Saturday vigil Mass. I wished I had Sunday off work as many out of town parishes in larger towns will have a procession.

I will be attending the afternoon Mass which will have the Procession & the Sequence will be sung. The Sequence is sung at all the Masses.

We don’t have a parish Corpus Christi procession, as our diocesan procession takes place at our local former seminary, which has now thankfully been maintained a Centre for Catholic Studies, with the original chapel still preserved. It is beautiful but sadly I am unable to attend this year due to exams. This morning we sang Lauda Sion in English and had a fantastic homily on the importance of the Real Presence in the Eucharist.

My Latin Mass always has a procession and I look forward each year, both to the procession and to the music prepared by our schola.

Here’s Leonard Bernstein conducting Mozat’s Ave Verum Corpus

A blessed feast of Corpus Christi to all who visit our thread.

Just got back from ours. Our normal 9:30am and 11:30am Masses are combined into a 10:00am Mass, with procession following Mass, then Benediction back inside, and finally, Lunch in the parish Hall 👍

Neither was done or every has been done at my parish. It saddens me.

I will say that we have a new Deacon who is very much in tune with the very great traditions of our Church. He had exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on June 4 (the traditional date of Corpus Christi) to be in union with our Holy Father as he did the great procession in Rome.

No procession or sequence today in my territorial parish (OF). The ICRSS’s Thursday evening Mass included the sequence. Their morning Mass that day was followed by a procession, but I couldn’t go because of a scheduling conflict: I was serving a morning Mass in my territorial parish (Thursday of the 9th week in Ordinary Time). :whacky:

Yesterday at the vigil mass, we recited the entire sequence. The homily was both inspirational and catechetical. (Many folks didn’t know how many times a day they can receive communion. Or reasons not to.)
Today, I attended the liturgy in Spanish. The sequence was prayed by a reader with guitar chords accompanying him. After the postcommunion prayer we processed down the street to an altar set up on the lawn. Prayed a Eucharist chaplet. Benediction. Beautiful

I assisted at my local ordinary form parish this morning. No sequence, no procession.
Perhaps next year.🙂
My local parish did have a procession last night; it’s exciting to see this tradition reclaimed.

Meanwhile, here are some pictures of my E.F. Corpus Christi procession from 2014. The 2015 pictures should be posted shortly.

My parish sang Panis Angelicus. We didn’t have a procession or anything, but we are having a Holy Hour on Tuesday. Our priest gave a wonderful homily explaining the origins of the feast day of Corpus Christi and also spoke about Eucharistic miracles, which was exciting.

I was second reader and recited the short version of the sequence at the noon Mass today.

Panis Angelicus was sung by the cantor during communion.

We had full incense.

My parish had a Eucharistic procession today. It was very beautiful, as always.

We did not recite or sing the Sequence today. I would like to hear it recited, at least. It’s a really beautiful poem.

As well as beautiful hymns during mass: Lord enthroned in heavenly splendour, youtube.com/watch?v=OV9wUIZJFAA
Alleluia Sing to Jesus, and Sweet Sacrament Divine we then had a procession and sang Soul of my Saviour, We Pray thee heavenly father and Love is his word and at the end Benediction with the Tantum Ergo sung to Picardy (Let all mortal flesh keep silence youtube.com/watch?v=p-4nuLjkIPk

Also a new concluding hymn O Bread of Heaven beneath this veil. Superb.
