Ah yes…but there is a difference between judgement and fraternal correction…no?
I don’t know. Is there an official Church teaching on passing judgement on others other than on the state of their souls? I can easily see someone making a judgement, if that’s what you call it, on their spouse, for example, in determining his mind or heart. Don’t you have that right with your spouse? Or your kids, for that matter?

I’ve been married long enough, and surprised by her too many times, to presume to know the state of my spouse’s soul at any given time.

Her mood, on the other hand, is a different matter 😉

I don’t think so. I might know more about them so I might have a more informed judgement but I am prone to be wrong about it. It’s not a good set up for a happy marriage.

Judging others hearts is not something I would want to do. I think we need to worry about our own when we do that.
