Should the Brown Scapular be worn with the Promise on the front panel (hanging over the chest)… or with the picture of Our Lady on the front panel? Or visa versa? Or… is either way acceptable? Thank you and God bless. 🙂

I looked at a couple of scapular sites, but I couldn’t find anything that said specifically if there was a “front” or “back” panel. 🤷

Yeah, I couldn’t find anything either. Well, thanks for looking anyway. God bless.

I don’t know where I came up with this idea, but it seems to me from what I’ve seen and read that it maybe preferrable that Our Lady would be in front with the promises in the back. :shrug:It probably doesn’t make too much difference though.

From what I understand, Brown Scapulars can have different pictures on them, or even no pictures at all, so it seems to be up to one’s preference/discretion. Besides, I think Our Lady cares more that we wear it than what direction we should be wearing it 😉

Have you been invested in the scapular yet? I haven’t, but I would like to be.
“Mommyof4”, yes, I was invested… in the days when it was part of preparation for First Holy Communion. 🙂

I believe you can ask any of your parish priests to invest you. It only takes a minute.

Brigid and “Randomguy”… thank you for your (name removed by moderator)ut. Both of your responses make sense. I am grateful. God bless.

I keep Our Lady on the front, and the promises on the back. It’s what seems to make sense, to me. 🤷

Thanks to all, for the (name removed by moderator)ut. I have placed the panel with Our Lady in front. God bless.
