This is far different from Carl Sagan’s scenario which was like the end of civilization.
And an all-out two-sided nuclear war is far different from the eruption of one volcano, albeit a big one.

It’ll cause the DOW to drop quite a few points, I suppose,
but Carl Sagan could not get many people to agree to his “nuclear winter” theory although he went on all the talk shows to promote it.

One question of his I won’t forget.

“Who speaks for the planet Earth?” or something to that effect.

I saw parts of the original one with Carl Sagan and loved it. I like when he spoke about having a catalog of the galaxy called the “encyclopedia galactia”. I’d love to have such a thing as I always wonder what is out there when I look at the stars at night. We’re lucky to live in the age of the Hubble telescope so we know there are 400 Billion galaxies.

I’d like to learn more about dark energy and matter in this version as these topics are the most interesting.

Ya think? 😃

Thanks for the link. I’ve downloaded the article, and I’ll read it tomorrow when I have time.

There was another of Sagan’s quotes that I really liked, something like, “You’d have better luck trying to mate with a daffodil than with an alien,” contra all the human-alien hybrids that were appearing on Star Trek. That’s one area where I think he was absolutely right.
