Panentheism, not to be confused with Pantheism, is the belief that God both is the universe and also is beyond it.I dont know or really what Panentheism is.If anyone could explain it to me I would appreciate that.Thank you very much for your time.
Woopsy, apologiesPanentheism, not to be confused with Pantheism, is the belief that God both is the universe and also is beyond it.

I agree. The distinction is important.Panentheism, not to be confused with Pantheism, is the belief that God both is the universe and also is beyond it.

I don’t want to derail the thread, but aren’t all non-Catholic doctrines, by default, “heretical”?I agree. The distinction is important.
Omnipresence is the orthodox Christian view of God’s relationship to creation.
Panentheism is slightly off from pantheism and towards the doctrine of Omnipresence. Pantheism is considered heresy, whereas (at least at the moment!) panentheism is not - but it is well to keep away from it in my opinion.
Although most people avoid the work “heretical” out of politeness, I think it is accurate to say that Catholics generally hold that doctrines that conflict with Catholic dogma are heretical. The question is whether the concept of Panentheism is compatible with Catholic theology or not. Some people believe it is compatible with Catholic teaching, others are vigorously opposed. If you ask me, its a bit of an academic argument, with little or no impact on real people’s lives–of course that doesn’t stop people from getting worked up over it.I don’t want to derail the thread, but aren’t all non-Catholic doctrines, by default, “heretical”?
Thank you,

Not necessarily; I think it goes case by case so to speak.I don’t want to derail the thread, but aren’t all non-Catholic doctrines, by default, “heretical”?

Not technically. They’re not heretical if they aren’t approved but aren’t discouraged or declared incompatible with Catholicism.I don’t want to derail the thread, but aren’t all non-Catholic doctrines, by default, “heretical”?
Thank you,

Declaration, but to my knowledge, yes.So to actually be heretical it takes a specific prohibition?
