the history of the early Church, from 33AD to 313AD? I’ve found plenty of resources about the post-Constantine Church, but I haven’t been able to find much of anything on the time period before that. I’d like to increase my knowledge on this part of the Church’s history, so if anyone could give me any leads it would be great. 🙂
 
I have just finished reading two major works on liturgy, one on liturgical history and one on liturgical theology, the former western and the latter eastern. They are Christian Worship Up Until the Time of Charlemagne by Mgr. Duchesne and An Introduction to Liturgical Theology by Fr. Schmemann. They go a little beyond 313 A.D. since the primary resources that we can turn to for pre-Constantinian liturgies are very scant and since we can only reconstruct so much, much more commentary was devoted to liturgical developments up until High Middle Ages the time just before the Great Schism.
 
“The Primitive Church” is a good read (written by a Catholic priest). God bless.
