We hear that life is a miracle, and since death is part of life, I was wondering if death was miraculous?
While this is fair, as death is a consequence of Original Sin, death itself has been conquered by Jesus Christ and has become the means of our finally seeing Him face to Face in Eternity, God willing we lived our life appropriately. If death was just DEATH, without any hope afterwards, yes, it would be hideous as it would be the devil’s victory. But it is now our gateway to Eternal Life to finally be with our Creator, and thus it is also beautiful, especially when one lays down his or her life for those they love.Death is nothing but shameful and hideous. Let’s not look for beauty where none exists.

Nope, no silence for me. That is too much like death.Death is not hideous nor is it shameful. Death is simply part of a process. The circle of life. Change. Everything that lives experiences death. Our bodies are constantly changing-different body parts change at different rates. Therefore we are dying all the time or parts of us are dying all the time at different rates.
Death is simply the physical way we move on. Move on to nothingness, I doubt this. Move on to eternal life with Christ maybe? Move on to different realm maybe? Any number of possibilities, but the thing is death may be painful, scary, horrifying for some even, but not hideous or shameful. These are simply how some folks perceive death. Some perceive life the same way I suppose. We see what we believe.
Still the mind chatter. Welcome the silence and perceive things with clarity. My two cents.
What about saints who have experienced holy deaths…?Death is nothing but shameful and hideous. Let’s not look for beauty where none exists.

Death is part of death, not life. Death was a result of sin according to Scripture. I am curious. Why would you consider it to be miraculous? A miracle is not defined as anything that is a part of life. Now, someone rising from the dead, that is miraculous. We hear that life is a miracle, and since death is part of life, I was wondering if death was miraculous?
Correct.Death (of the body) is not a miracle. It is inevitable, naturally. Simple as that, really.
Yes. If there is another life after that otherwise it is empty. We hear that life is a miracle, and since death is part of life, I was wondering if death was miraculous?
Is it really a Christian belief that Adam and eve were physically immortal before the fall? From a naturalistic point of view death is the result of entropy. It makes sense that in the garden of Eden Adam and Eve were in grace and miraculously protected from the effects of natural entropy including death. However, once they were expelled from the garden, from that state of grace, they experienced death along with any other animal.

Do you still think death is nothing but shameful and hideous even though there have been saints who have had sweet and holy deaths, expiring in the presence of Our Blessed Lord and the Queen of Heaven and immediately leaving behind an odor of sanctity that permeates and persists?Death is nothing but shameful and hideous. Let’s not look for beauty where none exists.

Death is shameful and hideous in itself. The circumstances surrounding it are only secondary.Do you still think death is nothing but shameful and hideous even though there have been saints who have had sweet and holy deaths, expiring in the presence of Our Blessed Lord and the Queen of Heaven and immediately leaving behind an odor of sanctity that permeates and persists?
Understandable, given that you face losing it in any case.I would gladly give my life for Jesus
How is finally being admitted into Heaven shameful or hideous?Death is shameful and hideous in itself. The circumstances surrounding it are only secondary.

Death is a part of life. Death is merely the separation of soul from body. I think you may mistakenly equate death with annihilation or ceasing to exist. We still live (only in spirit) either in Purgation, Heaven, or Hell until the General Judgment.Death is not a part of life. A negation is not a part.
Not --A cannot be a part of A.
