Could I be called to a celibate life?

If Op hasn’t brought this up in therapy, then there is nothing the therapist can do. Therapy needs honesty on the part of the person involved and Op should have brought it up herself or her parents should have brought this to the police to get justice. Knowing and not doing anything is the height of negligence on the part of the parents.
I am not sure what you are driving at. OP has stated that she has brought up the molestation in counseling but that she has not consulted a priest. I have encouraged her to be open with her counselor in letting him/her know that she doesn’t feel like she’s getting anywhere and is not being helped. Is there something I missed? I have not read the OPs other posts, but I got the impression that she is not a minor and that the counselor would not be a mandatory reporter to the police.

Sorry, misread that part, my apology. Even if brought up in therapy, this latest bit of news is kinda concerning because it should be a big focus point in therapy and yes maybe a change would be good. There are have a number of claims of abuse by Op especially concerning her father. Likewise at one time she thought she was in love with someone from India and was considering marrying him and some other strange things brought up. I’m not saying they are not true at all but if she was raped in the past and this is new news, her parents at the time should have reported to the police and pursued it if they knew about it.

Honey, you need professional therapy about the molestation. It sounds like the scars from this are your issue, and not a strong calling towards a religious life.

I think the right therapist will definitely help you with what happened in your past. I do think it may all be connected.

And, I do think you just have not met the right guy yet or the right kind of guys. Don’t settle or date just for the sake of having someone, anyone. I have read your other threads. You are young, you are trying to get through school and get a career going. Don’t worry about finding Mr. Right. He will come when you aren’t looking for him. Some people don’t get married in their early 20s and that is fine.
