And what would be the point of doing this? Why would anyone do this? The only place they don’t emphasize them is when they’re talking with people who know better.

I think we have demonstrated to you and the other mormons that the mormon faith is filled with beliefs that are as far away from Christian orthodoxy as the heavens are above the earth. You are a misguided cult doing the work of satan in leading souls astray. And what would be the point of doing this? Why would anyone do this?
Total lie. I never said thatDiana, you know this is a lie!
Your church has taught several things that are not at your lds website today. Things that Mormons believe.
How many more examples do you want???
- God the Father had sex with Mary, taught by your church until c.1970. There are mormons who still believe this. This teaching is not at your lds website.
- Humans who become gods will rule over their own worlds. Also taught by your church. There are mormons who still believe this. This teaching is not at your lds website.
- God the Father is subject and worshiped a god who is above him. Taught by your church. There are mormons who still believe this. This teaching is not at your lds website.
Read Smith’s King Follet sermon, and tell me how many Mormons believe what that sermon says, and how many don’t. And tell me how many years what is in that sermon was taught by your church to its members.
On the flip side:
Ask bukowski about chapter 47 of the Gospel Principles manual. He doesn’t believe it. Your church teaches it. It is at your lds website.
I’ll leave it up to you as to how Mormons reconcile this with themselves.
I see that the teachings of your church that are the farthest removed from Christianity have been removed from the lds website.
Nah, it’s a blast and totally addicting. That’s why I am cutting back big time. All the anti arguments are twisted. Kinda like saying we are fighting overseas for socialism.First of all MEgus I want to say thank you for being so patient and generous with your time. It can’t be easy to keep coming back to defend your faith over and over to people who are constantly trying to prove you wrong.
You guys have been thoroughly exposed for your cult truths.Nah, it’s a blast and totally addicting. That’s why I am cutting back big time. All the anti arguments are twisted. Kinda like saying we are fighting overseas for socialism.
Well, we are fighting overseas, right?
And some believe our new president is a socialist, right?
And we are fighting to promote our nation’s agenda right?
Therefore we are fighting overseas for socialism.
String together a bunch of half truths and you can prove anything.
That’s what satan does – string together half truths.
I get $1. for every reply that says “No-you do!”. Credit card accepted.
AHA, now I can REALLY retire!
My kids usta argue with eachother “You are! No! YOU are”!
Thank goodness, they grew up. Anybody around here ready to grow up?
I guess that’s asking too much.
DUdE i have said it 100 i,m not yelling my key board is not working but i,m happy you like my post thank you may be you can help with these. Book of Mormon
The book of Mormon is more correct than the Bible, (History of the Church, 4:461.) Devil, the The Devil was born as a spirit after Jesus “in the morning of pre-existence,” (Mormon Doctrine, page 192.) Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers and we were all born as siblings in heaven to them both, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163.) God God used to be a man on another planet, Mormon Doctrine, p. 321. Joseph Smith, Times and Seasons, Vol 5, pp. 613-614; Orson Pratt, Journal of Discourses, Vol 2, p. 345, Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, vol. 7, p. 333.) “The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as mans…” (D&C 130:22). God, becoming a god After you become a good Mormon, you have the potential of becoming a god, (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pages 345-347, 354.) “Then shall they be gods, because they have no end; therefore shall they be from everlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall they be above all, because all things are subject unto them. Then shall they be gods, because they have all power, and the angels are subject unto them,” (DC 132:20). God, many gods There are many gods, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163.) "And they (the Gods) said: Let there be light: and there was light (Book of Abraham 4:3) God, mother goddess There is a mother god, (Articles of Faith, by James Talmage, p. 443.) God is married to his goddess wife and has spirit children, (Mormon Doctrine p. 516.God, Trinity The trinity is three separate Gods: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. “That these three are separate individuals, physically distinct from each other, is demonstrated by the accepted records of divine dealings with man.” (Articles of Faith, by James Talmage, p. 35.)
i have some time so take your time, and thanks again for enjoying my post
Yep.There never was a time when we were not as well. No contradiction there.
yepYes, that’s pretty much what we believe. There are some things you are leaving out though. All this we are doing is still a part of God’s dominion. We are not taking from him, we are adding unto him. We are only a part of the helping process for all the worlds he has created or will create. We will be called up as kings and queens to rule and reign with God, not over God.
Oh, and while you can ask anyone. And many of us will help you find places to learn and gain understanding, You need to ask the Holy Ghost to teach you. The Savior told us that is where we need to turn for the truth of all things. So, when one of us or someone else gives you answers, it’s still on your shoulders to council with the Holy Ghost to find out if these answers are truth from God or not.
MEgus
Then why does the Book of Mormon say we believe in one God?Remember when I said the Mormons believe in 3 separate Gods? You mormons denied this saying One God in three Devine persons. Look above to Mormon Doctrine page 516 . God Trinity The Trinity is 3 separate Gods…Excellent research Bill!!!

You will notice that every single one of these quotes was emphasizing paternity; that is…GOD is the Father, the Holy Ghost is not.
Thank you for including some of the context that proves this.
As I challenged Rebecca, not a single one of these says that God had sex with Mary. Every one of them is about WHO
Fathered Christ, not HOW
Again you have proven my point. Mormon trinitarian theology believes in a plurality of Gods, each separate and distinct from One Another. Polytheism is at the heart of your beliefs.
Please bukowski, how many conversations have we had where you say you don’t agree with the Mormon teaching that God was once a man? Yet there it is, in your Gospel Principles manual. Where you continually point out it isn’t mormon doctrine, therefor, you don’t believe it.Total lie. I never said that
CFR
Please explain what this means. Good luck. Why does God limit our “participation”? Is their a ceiling to the amount of grace we can in principle achieve? Where is this grace ceiling set? I bet that is a mystery huh? Oh I remember – it all goes into that big bank that goes out as indulgences right? Goodness in, grace into the bank. I get it now. That makes sense.Still teaches this.
As truthsilence says, we partake of the divine nature, we do not become that nature.
dianaiad;4767675:
So come on where’s your reply? Dian is separating God the Father from the Holy Spirit. So you agree mormons believe in more than one God.You will notice that every single one of these quotes was emphasizing paternity; that is…GOD is the Father, the Holy Ghost is not.
Thank you for including some of the context that proves this.

Alan
If God created time, how can there be a time “before” God?Seriously, you were either born later than c.1980 or converted to mormonism since then, because frankly, you don’t know what you are talking about.
I think that if we were to totally examine all these beliefs, we would find that we are much closer than most think.I seriously doubt you know what the early church taught. Overlaying your mormon belief over history and calling it fact doesn’t make it so.
As I said, still teaches it. Catechism:
460 The Word became flesh to make us “partakers of the divine nature”:78 "For this is why the Word became man, and the Son of God became the Son of man: so that man, by entering into communion with the Word and thus receiving divine sonship, might become a son of God."79 "For the Son of God became man so that we might become God."80 "The only-begotten Son of God, wanting to make us sharers in his divinity, assumed our nature, so that he, made man, might make men gods."81
I am glad you are seeking the truth in the Catholic Church. If you are going to accept the teaching of the Catholic Church, accept the truth of the Eucharist.
Now THERE’S an authorititive cite! Where did you get your Phd?Then I suggest you bone up on your church history. Joseph F, or Joseph Fielding Smith (I get the two mixed) clearly taught, unequivocally, without any question, that God the Father had sexual relations with Mary.
Thanks for the prayersThis is Christ’s church. His Church is One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. We still have the Priesthood and we still have the Sacraments instituted by Jesus Christ for the Salvation and Sanctification of mankind. Pray about it MEgus. I am praying for you and Diana and mfbukowski.
Peace,
Tami
I second that challenge. Dust off your google while we dust off our shoes.Really?
Care to give us the QUOTES???
EVERY single quote you will be able to come up with will be taken out of context…and that context is trinitarian. It’s not about whether God had sex with Mary. It’s about God the Father being the Father of Christ, and that the Holy Ghost was not.
In your view, that would be heretical enough I suppose, but it’s not quite as titillating a charge.
So go ahead. Post a quote that is NOT firmly in the context that I am talking about. You will not, ever, anywhere, find that any General Authority in the church has claimed that God had sexual relations with Mary.
But be my guest; you made the claim, you find one that says so. Post it right here.
