Could the pope be married or have children?

It is my understanding that the only requirement for the papacy is being a male Catholic. I know it is not realistic that the college of cardinals would choose a non-cardinal or a non-ordained man. But the question is: Is it possible?
 
Theoretically, yes. But, frankly, it would be crazy for a married Catholic man, particularly a married Catholic man with children, to accept any such election. His vocation is quite obviously his marriage and his responsibility is to his wife and children.
