Could the sin of homosexuality be less grave for someone of the next generation

I totally and fully understand that. I am talking about a young male/female born today whereby, in 20 yrs time, he/she may have been taught homosexual sex education at school, that SS couples may legally marry and so on. Obviously, the CC’s teaching will never, ever change on this issue - my query was in relation to the ‘level of culpability’ for the person committing the sin in 20 yrs time, due to the full acceptance of the acts by society, which will obviously influence those with SS attraction. Those especially affected would have no religious upbringing and/or SS parents, who would IMO be the least culpable as SS activity would have been seen to be ‘a normal family’ to such children from birth.

If the person is a Catholic they will be fully culpable no matter how widespread/“acceptable” to the rest of society.
Abortion, sadly, is permitted and legal in many countries but that does not lessen the fact it remains a sin of grave matter.

I am not clear about what you are saying. Are you saying that if enough people are committing the sin, then reason and Church teaching are overridden? If an objectively sinful act becomes common place, a person can become invincibly ignorant?

That probably applies, in many cases, to contraception and will also apply to homosexual acts.

See post #14 in this thread for a quote from the CCC that explains invincible ignorance. It is possible that the social acceptance of sins might contribute to invincible ignorance. Only God can judge how responsible people are for not knowing these things are sinful.
