Could this have come from the Holy Spirit?

I wonder if this particular memory could have been inspired by the Holy Spirit, and if so, wonder for what reason. The reason I ask this, is I attended a Parish Mission recently and the Speaker said we should be very aware of really listening and watching for God speaking to us in the little things in our lives.

The other day at work, I was busy at my desk as usual, not a bad day, but pretty normal day as they go. Anyway, out of no where, a very strong memory came to me from my childhood. It was so strong, I can remember many of the details as if it happened only yesterday. It took place many years ago when I was probably 8 or 9 years old. I was lying on the couch in the front room of our old family home on a summer Saturday morning. All was well with the world. Mom was just finishing up house cleaning, Dad was reading the newspaper or something a in his favorite chair. I was watching a Spiderman TV cartoon. We had an enclosed front porch and the door was open letting in a cool morning breeze. It was a very pleasant moment, I felt loved and secure. Of course, since then, I have grown up and Dad died about 20 years ago and Mom about 3 years ago. The world has pretty much moved on. I don’t have any particular problems in my life, other then normal day to day things.

Really weird that this would hit me out of no where.

Any thoughts or has anyone experienced anything like this too?

Thanks…

Those kinds of things just sort of “pop” into my head too at times, or sometimes I have a beautiful dream of my father or mother where it seems as if we are really right there together, (they both have passed on.) I thank God for the beautiful memories and dreams.

I miss them both, love them still, pray for them and find it a true gift from God when I have times like that. Who knows, maybe God is just letting us know that they still love us and think of us and that they are praying for us too.

Thanks Allhers…that kind of makes sense. Lately, I’ve been praying for my deceased loved ones and I’ve been adding an extra request that my parents and loved also pray for me in return. Sounds kind of weird maybe to some. Your explaination does fit…Thanks again…

After reading the underlined part, I would guess that it did come from God, probably via your guardian angel.

Since you parents have died, you can only be with them in your memory, which they realize. Therefore, in return for your prayers for them, they may have prayed that God would recall to your memory an enjoyable time you had with them in the past. If I had to guess, I would say that is what happened.

I pray for my parents and for other relatives and friends. Even two teachers from high school. - and I graduated in 1973! I ask them to pray for me as well. I hope people pray for me when I pass on!

Blessings,
