I need some help learning about the council of trent, the call for protestant participation, and most of all some good books that i could read in order to learn more, and to support our views, or even the views of protestants, information in general is good. thanx in advance

I would suggest The General Councils by Christopher Bellitto and The Canons and Decrees of the Council of Trent available from TAN books.
 
I have only Vol. 1 of “A History of the Council of Trent” Translated from the German by Dom Ernest Graf, O.S.B., Thomas Nelson and Sons Ltd, First published in English 1957, (German 1949).

REALLY detailed. It is worth a visit to your local Seminary library to see if they have it. There should be no problem in inspecting it if they have it.

The Old Catholic Encyclopedia is perfect for this. www.newadvent.org go to the section on the Father’s and look up Trent, or better yet just do a search. May God help you in your search.

Hubert Jedin is the recognized authority. Only the first two volumes of his multi-volume history of the Council of Trent have been translated into English. They should be available at any good seminary or general academic library. Check the universities in your area. Or perhaps your public library can get it by inter-library loan.
