This is foul and a gross abuse of the taxpayers dollars in the UK. This is an example of how some human beings reduce other human beings to animals without intelligence, and most of all, without consciences.

That sounds like taxpayers money to me. Or are you trying to point out that its not American taxpayers money being spent on a prostitute/prostitutes but British taxpayers money?

or are you implying that it is not a waste of british taxpayers money, because as a british resident I would disagree

I’m sorry, but I’m not really equipped to make an audit of the UK’s budget. But I don’t feel like you’ve answered my question. I have just ascertained that the UK does indeed levy an income tax, and it seems to me that governments don’t have any money, other than what they collect in taxes, and so it really does seem to me that the only place the original 520M came from is taxes.

full disclosure: I have never paid taxes to the United Kingdom

Ok, I have to say that my original post rather reflected the fact that . . . when you’re just below 5,000 posts and are a bit tired of being in the 4,000’s . . . .

I have paid taxes in the UK. If you’re insisting that dollars instead of pounds is a significant discourse in discussion, I think it’s childish (let alone that an American tourist could purchase something with their credit card and pay the VAT but since they are using an American card they paid in dollars, same if the store takes American money). I paid taxes in quid. =p

Well, it started as a dig at the use of ‘tax dollars’ to describe expenditure in the UK. Then I was just amused at the fact that people missed the point.

Taxpayers dollars/taxpayers pounds. To clarify, regardless of currency, this is taxpayers MONEY, and it is being misused in the worst way. The only way it could get any worse is if children were involved.
