A priest told me a few times in advent to spend time with the Lord and thank Him for the blessings he’s given myself and my family members in the last liturgical year.

I’ve been doing this alot lately.

My uncle came back to the Church then he almost left because he became wraped up in the Vatican 2 and novos ordo Mass not correct nonsense, IMO.

I’m facing some health problems and so are some my of loved ones, many people I know have died, there is alot of animosity towards the church in the world and sometimes even within the church and many different opinions and disagreements between parishioners, priests, laity etc on where the church is going where it is wrong/ right etc etc.

But each day I go to Mass I receive Christ’s body blood soul and divinity!
Now even my Dad who has run from God and his personal problems his whole life wants to become Catholic.

I geuss what in trying to say is the same thing I said to my uncle a while back, we have the Eucharist at Mass, it’s valid. And we are on our way to heaven, if we so choose, what is there to complain about?

Ave Maria,

Praise be to Jesus Christ.

Yes, count your blessings and not your troubles. It’s a choice. People who count their blessings are far happier. That’s a fact. Dwell on the blessings and they will continue to increase more and more. What you focus on, you manifest.

Are you saying he is incorrect, or Vatican II isn’t correct? Them’s fighting words if it’s the latter. Ambiguous context. It’s not your fault, that’s just how the internet works.

Thanks for sharing. I am also practicing gratitude and thinking of all the things I am thankful for. I do feel happier, even though there are still things that I need and am praying for.

I also add thanks for the blessings I’ve received that I didn’t recognize. Sometimes you don’t realize until later . . .

When I’m having a particularly hard time, I try, upon waking in the morning, to think of three things for which I am grateful and thank God for them. It’s a great way to start the day. Helps to keep things in perspective. I really should do this every morning and not just when I’m struggling.

I was saying my uncle was incorrect, I have no issues with the second Vatican council.

I use my smart phone as I don’t own a computer,
so sometimes it’s not easy to put thoughts into typed word’s.

God bless you🙏

Today the blessings I count are that four lesions or tumors of cancer in the brain are gone after treatment and only one new one has made itself known. :)
