Does anyone else like country music? I’m from the south and I know we have that stereotype, but I do love country music. Some of my favorite singers:

-Garth Brooks. I have all his cds. I wish his music would come out on iTunes!
-Jason Aldean-I like his early stuff the best
-Luke Combs-the best young country singer

Any other fans out there?

I’m a fan. I tend toward the oldies - Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Patsy Cline, George Jones, Loretta Lynn…greatest music ever.

Zack Brown Band, BlackBerry Smoke, Alan Jackson, and three that are master musicians, Travis Tritt, Vince Gill and Mark O’Connor.

I do. I like Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan. I guess being a Nascar fan it makes sense 😁

Based on your screen name i would have taken you for more of a Radiohead fan.

To answer the question though, i dont like much of what passes as country today but i have been listening to a fair amount of bluegrass lately which is a close cousin.

I like most of the old classic country like very old Carter Family, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Hank, Waylon, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton etc.

Some of the new stuff is okay. I like Trace Adkins and Dierks Bentley, they have made some great videos too. I also like a lot of individual songs like “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” and “You Ain’t Worth the Whiskey”. I went to a country music festival last year and saw Tyler Farr, Trace Adkins and Toby Keith, it was not my normal type show but it was a fun day out and near my house.

As a country music fan I cut my teeth on the '90s era of country music and still prefer it. Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, Shania Twain, etc. I saw Shania in concert in '98 at the height of her popularity. I’ve seen Martina perform three times.

In recent years I’ve gotten more into bluegrass (very much a cousin to traditional country); I’ve seen Rhonda Vincent in concert several times, and last July went to see Darin & Brooke Aldridge.

I’m a little bit country and my sister is a little bit rock ‘n’ roll.

Stapleton. Combs, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley.

Florida Georgia Line should not be allowed to make music. Or if they do, call themselves pop.

Yeah, most of the bro country of today is just slightly modernized 70s top 40, especially if one was heavy into the Eagles and all the related/ soundalike bands. Someone mentioned Blackberry Smoke, I don’t even think of them as country. They’re classic rock.

What would you say is the relationship between today’s bro country, the Eagles, and Gram Parsons, respectively?

Shania had the unique ability to cause me to be in need of confession.

I still listen to 90s country all the time. Brooks & Dunn, Tracy Lawrence, John Michael Montgomery, John Anderson
