YES! Two great singers. Love them. “Fancy” by Reba is a great song.

Mine too, OK. Thanks so much for starting it! Makes me feel like putting on some music…

I’m city born and bred, but I love country.

Waylon, Kris, Willie, Emmylou!

I particularly love country and bluegrass gospel. Willie’s The Troublemaker and Emmylou’s Roses in The Snow are two favourites!

I like REAL Country Music, not the modern Pop Country.

Willie and Waylon and Hank and Tammy and George…

To put it in perspective, Randy Travis is a modern pop country artist. Until Margo Price and Christ Stapleton came around, Country music was a dead thing.

Glad someone mentioned Emmylou Harris. What I love about the classic singers is that they had distinctive voices, you just couldn’t confuse them with anyone else.

I saw Tracy Lawrence in concert back in December. Right now, I’m hoping to get tickets for the “Urban Cowboy Reunion” concert–Mickey Gilley and Johnny Lee!

Charley Pride, Lee Roy Parnell, Collin Raye, Marty Robbins, Ronnie Milsap, Mel Tillis… and Barbara Mandrell! I never missed her variety show back in the '80s!

Older or more traditional country music I like a lot. Most of the modern stuff, it drives me crazy. The songs are all the same. A local radio station plays a game every now and then. They have a list of about a dozen words words: tractor, fishing, gun, boots, mud, etc. They then will play the songs on the top of the country chart and see how many words are used within the first minute. It is hilarious. The songs are all cookie cutter.

There are a couple of current performers I like, Zac Brown does pretty good stuff at times.

But in general, give me Willie, Waylon, Johnny Cash, Robert Earl Keene, George Strait, Eddie Arnold (if we want to go back further), etc.

Country Music probably ended in the 70/80s. What we have now is basically pop with a bit of twang thrown in. Some of my favorites…

Emmylou Harris
Ernest Tubb
Hank Williams
Merle Haggard
Patsy Cline

Merle, Telecasters and Bonnie Owens…don’t get much better. Emmylou did a nice rendition also.
