Couples For Christ? Any Experiences?

Just attended a “ministry fair” (probably would have been more aptly titled “apostolate fair”) at my parish and ran into “Couples for Christ.” The people working the booth spoke with a heavy foreign (maybe Korean?) accent and I didn’t get a lot of info from them. Does anyone here on CAF have any experience with this group or any info as to what they do? Thanks.

They may have been Filipinos - I know many of them, all sincere, well meaning Catholics. What they do, I’m not sure. mostly raise money to help the poor, I think.

It is basically a movement intended to renew and strenghten one’s family life.

The group will be featured on EWTN sometime this October.

*ouples for Christ (CFC) is a movement intended for the renewal and strengthening of Christian family life. The members have committed themselves to the Lord and to one another so that they may grow in maturity as men and women of God and fulfill their primary vocation of raising up families under the lordship of Jesus Christ and for the service of the Kingdom of God.

Couples for Christ is a work of Christ which raises up Christian couples and establishes Christian families committed to the work of evangelization, winning the world for Christ and Total Human Liberation through the power of the Holy Spirit.

It grows mainly through the establishment of localized units in different parishes.*

In March 11, 2000, CFC was granted Vatican recognition as an International Association of the Faithful of the Pontifical Right, through the Pontifical Council for the Laity. In April 25, 2005, the Vatican confirmed CFC’s recognition and issued the definitive approval of its International Statutes.
Membership in CFC begins upon completion of the Christian Life Program (CLP). Members are made part of a small cell group called a Household which meets weekly for encouragement and mutual support in their Christian life.
