To me, Hebrews 6:4 is talking more about the seriousness of thinking that you could actually fall away. I believe the author is being completely serious when he says that it is impossible to be renewed to repentance if one has “fallen away.” If one can be unified with the Holy Spirit and then somehow fall from that, there would have to be another sacrifice of Christ to make them right again. Since we know that people CAN be renewed to God after sinning without Christ dying again, then we can also know that their sin has not caused them to “fall away” from their salvation.
We will have to agree to disagree on that one. 🙂

Hebrews 10:26-27 “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.”

I agree that all sin is serious in that all sin is is abhorrent to God, and that we must make every effort to not sin by asking God to help us. However, some sins are more serious than others. We reap what we sow. We must avoid the near occasions of sin (those things which could lead us to sin).

1 Corinthians 15:33 "Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”

Galatians 6:7 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”

If you knew that when you yelled at your kids, that you would be punished the exact same as if you actually murdered them, would you then be more attuned to your actions at all times? Most venial sins are sins committed without premeditation. We do not think before we act because the consequences are not immediate. Christians must learn to think before they act if they want to grow in holiness.
I already believe that the punishment is the same for yelling at them and murdering them. The punishment for sin is death.
1 Peter 1:13-16 "Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
God does indeed judge us but we are given minds in order to use reason and logic. So, do you think that committing adultery is more serious than telling someone you like their outfit when you really don’t?
Both are the same sin. Disobeying Gods Law. Neither is Holy conduct, both grieve our Lord. Its our Humanness that likes to say one i worse than the other. but both are offensive to God.
Purgatory burns away venial sins if we have not repented of them:
1 Corinthians 3:12-15 “Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
Persons with venial sins on their souls will have to go through a cleansing fire in order to be purified so that they can enter eternal life. Nothing impure can enter heaven.
1 John 3:3 “And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
Im familiar with the doctrine of Purgatory, but my question was more in the argument about “covering over” or “washed away” IF the sin is already “washed away” then furthur purification would be unnecessary.

Good evening-

I realized recently that I have been hearing for years from my Protestant brothers and sisters that our sins are “covered” by the blood of Jesus - that when God looks at us He does not see our sins but instead sees the blood of Jesus (a fundamental difference between Catholic Christianity and much of Protestant Christianity is that those Protestant doctrines that derive from the Calvinist branch do not believe that we are cleansed from Original Sin - we continue to be hopelessly depraved but God substitutes the Passion of the Lord Jesus for our condemnation and so accepts us anyway). But - I’m trying to figure out where this comes from? Most of these folks are “Scripture-only” believers and I cannot figure out what Scripture they might be using to support a “covered by the blood” understanding of justification?

The phrase describes the Atonement: that is what Atonement is in Hebrew: covering. Hence Yom Kippur, the kapporet or cover on the “mercy-seat”; etc. The textual source is Exodus & Leviticus, the conceptual source is the ministry of the priests. IOW - the atonement by Christ is a priestly action:

And by being covered by the kapporet, sins are no longer before God’s Presence, as it were - they don’t count. So there can be access to God as a result. This is not Divine self-deception 🙂 - it is how the Israelites/Jews conceptualised things; to understand the NT doctrine of atonement, we have to understand the thinking upon which it is ultimately based.

We will agree to disagree. The Catholic Church, beginning with Peter and Paul, et al, have all taught orally what I posted regarding mortal and venial sins and their punishments. But, I do understand why you believe the way you do. It is in defense of your OSAS or Eternal Security doctrine that you must believe this.

SHW,

Those are wonderful posts. Very clear to anyone who has an open heart and mind. I really liked all your scriptual verses.

I am not very articulate when it comes to apologetics. I do wonder how the verses from the Bible can be so misconstrued by many. I think it is because many have been told what they mean for so long that it is very difficult to accept any other explanation.

Also being a Catholic is not easy as we know that sin will lead us to separation from God for all eternity. I do feel that God knows everyones heart and will judge people on what is in their hearts. He is merciful and understands the limitations we humans have.

If someone has mental disorders or due to no part of their own doing can’t see the light but truely loves our Lord they will be accepted into eternal life. Hope this is not off topic.

But if someone sins because they think they are eternally saved by some magic words they pronounce that is a different story. But I cannot judge anyone, that is God’s place.

Hi Bernadette,

Thank you for your kind words. 🙂

I agree with you that God judges our intentions and knows our weaknesses and He is merciful. He knows if we are truly trying to please Him to the best of our ability or if we are only trying to please ourselves yet claiming that He will save us no matter what we do because we have simply “accepted Him as our Lord and Savior.”

1 John 3:22 “And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”

We are told to admonish our brethren in order to correct their mistaken beliefs.

Romans 15:14 “Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.”

Most OSAS “Eternal Security” believers do not understand that “believing” also mandates “obedience.” The two cannot be separated. If they separate them, then they are not true believers and they will not be saved.

Hebrews 5:8-9 "8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him

I dont believe in OSAS and you’d have to define “Eternal Security” but I doubt I believe that too. I do believe that in this life and at Judgement there are consequences for our actions. I Believe that a Mortal sin is truly mortal. Jesus Sacrifice is no more for you if you have committed a true mortal sin, your heart would be hardened and you’d go to hell do not pass go do not collect $200 so not go to confession and get out of it. Some decisions are final. I would say Catholic definitions of "mortal and “venial” are incorrect. On that, I will agree to disagree if you’d like but dont call me OSAS. Even people who believe it dont like that term and I dont even believe it.

By your post, I can see that you do not believe in “eternal security.” You do, however, believe in non-merciful “no exceptions” damnation if you commit a mortal sin.

I thank God that I am Catholic. 🙂 I do believe in mortal and venial sins. I do believe that we reap what we sow (Galatians 6:7-8). However, I do believe in the mercy of God and that He will forgive us if we are truly sorry for our mortal sins.

Ezekiel 33:12-19 "Therefore you, O son of man, say to the children of your people: ‘The righteousness of the righteous man shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall because of it in the day that he turns from his wickedness; nor shall the righteous be able to live because of his righteousness in the day that he sins.’ 13 When I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, but he trusts in his own righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteous works shall be remembered; but because of the iniquity that he has committed, he shall die. 14 Again, when I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ if he turns from his sin and does what is lawful and right, 15 if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has stolen, and walks in the statutes of life without committing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 16 None of his sins which he has committed shall be remembered against him; he has done what is lawful and right; he shall surely live. 17 “Yet the children of your people say, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ But it is their way which is not fair! 18 When the righteous turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he shall die because of it. 19 But when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is lawful and right, he shall live because of it.

1 John 2:1-2 “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. **And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. **2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

James 5:19-20 “Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.”

I am thankful to be a child of a merciful and compassionate God who loves me and wants me to run to Him in confession (John 20:23) if I fail, so that He can heal me through the actions of the priest.

Luke 15:7 “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”

As a Messianic Jew, one who is studying the non-rabbinical practices of the written Torah, the “first five” as we call it, what is meant by "being covered by the blood of Jesus (Yeshua, in Hebrew) is that after Adam and Eve sinned, and carried out the first animal sacrifice outside the gate of the Garden of Eden, this was God’s first act in letting our first parents know the price of sin: the blood of the sinner. In this first case, as Abraham said so many years later, it was to be this way ever after. He said, “God will provide the lamb.”

This was the first prophetic act on the part of the One who would, some four thousand years later, take the place of the little innocent animal sacrificed every Sabbath, and at every one of the annual sabbaths which followi in the train of the Fourth Commandment Sabbath, the seventh day of the week as kept by believing Jews today.

When Jesus was in heaven, thousands of years before He ordered His own incarnation by implanting a male seed inside the womb of a sinful human being, Mary, she added her human seed to that of God the Son, who would, when born to her, not know that He was the Meschiach (the Messiah). He would grow and learn from his parents, his teachers, and study under the priests and teachers of the religion He, though he did not know it at the time, gave to their great ancestor, His “son, Moses who saw Him, Face to Face.”.

Thus, He lived out to the fullest, the Law He gave Moses at Mt. Sinai. The Ten Commandments were placed in the Ark of the Covenant (the only and permanent Covenant), and the explanation of how to keep His Ten Commandments, the Law He dictated to Moses and ordered Moses to put the parchments into a velvet sachel and hang it on one of the handles of the Ark of the Covenant. All of the Law was kept in that permanent place in God;s Sanctuary, the Most Holy Place in the Temple.

Original sin will be gone when the only True Jew returns for all those He, once and for all, gave up his perfect living of the Law He gave Moses, by ordering His own death at the hands of Roman pagans by permission and judgement of the non-believing leaders of the everyday people who became known as “Jews,” which only means “one who praises God.” God gave this people the name, “Israel.” It comes from an earlier word, “Judah.” That only means “the land of those who praise God.” So, what are we Christians today, if not “grafted in to God the Son’s olive tree of spiritual Israel.?” We become True Jews when we accept “Jesus Christ, the King of the Jews.”

And what did Christ die that we might do? Walk in His Laws, His Statutes and Judgements and do them. In what ways and days are those Statututes and Judgements and the other Laws He gave to Moses, all tolled, for forty days and nights? They are the religious calendar spelled out by the pre-incarnate Christ the Lord, each with it’s theme from the Plan of Salvation.

In the Passover Sedar, as it was kept by Christ, Himself. There is no record of Christ (Yeshua, Jesus) ever sacrificing a lamb for His own sins. He did not sin. He knew by the time of His ministry on earth that He was the Meschiach, the Messiah that would spill His own blodd for the sins of all who would believe in His ability to take away the memory of their sins. Why was His sacrifice necessary 4,000 years after Adam and Eve sinned? Because we, and the people back then, do not have the ability, even when we do accept His Life and Sacrifice, to perfectly obey the Law He gave Moses.

This is where we of the Protestant Church, including Messianic Jewish Christians, get the idea that we need Christ every day, and that He said we can come boldly before His Throne in prayer directly to Him, and seek forgiveness and know that He “is just and able to forgive ALL our sins.” But, why do we still keep on sinning? Because we sometimes give in to Satan’s many temptations to be selfish, just as the Jews and Romans were when He willingly turned His perfect life over into the hands of sinful, pagan human beings who followed satan’s vile tempations, and wanted to gratify lust and selfishness, and, as Christ earlier told them, “So killed they the prophets.”

In short, the Jews and pagan Romans wanted the blessings of Salvation, but wanted to keep on following their pagan sex orgies, worhipping their pagan dieties, the sun, the goddess, Diana, the sacrificing of babies to Ashteroth, etc. The Jews were selfish, almost beyond description. They ostricized the poor from the Temple who, once ripped of by the Priests, could no longer afford the Temple tax. That had to be paid in order for each Jew to enter the Temple to obtain forgiveness and Salvation. The Jews thought that they did the sacrifices to earn Salvation. That was their mortal sin. They excluded from Salvation those who could not pay. They let the poor die in the outcase places. These were the religious leaders, no less.

The whole Bible was written by blood Jews. The blood covering by Jesus, is available to all of us today. All we need to do is study His Plan.
In the Sedar Meal, we have the cup of Redemption (by Whom would we be redeemed? His name is Yeshua, in Greek, Jesus,

In the cup of Sanctification, we have the description of the process of becoming more like Him as we learn more of Him, and with His Holy Spirit, we strive to see where we can order change in our own lives, The cup of Deliverance, is the deliverance from this life of sin, and the coming Salvation when He returns to gather all those who "have kept the Commandments of God and have the faith and Testimony of Yeshua, Jesus, the Meschiach, Messiah, Christ The whole Bible, is about His only Plan of Salvation, the deliverance from sinning against His only Law, the Law of Love…

The blood sacrifice is for the same purpose as it has always been, But, we as believers have to reach out our hands and hearts to God the Son Who hears our direct prayers.

Your use of (Hebrews 10:26-27) seem to indicate that Baptism imparts “the knowledge of the truth” to the baby or older person.
I can see where you might think Baptism washes past sin away, but that verse does not fit the context of such an assumption.

Your use of (Hebrews 10:26-27) seem to indicate that Baptism imparts “the knowledge of the truth” to the baby or older person.
I can see where you might think Baptism washes past sin away, but that verse does not fit the context of such an assumption.
Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”

Acts 22:16 “And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”

Titus 3:4-7 “But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

Mark 16:16 “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

John 3:3-5 “Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”

Acts 22:16 “And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 6:11 “And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”

These verses all pertain to Baptism. We are made disciples of Christ through Baptism. Babies need to be baptized in order to remove Original Sin. (Romans 5) Baptism washes away all sins: Original sin and personal sins. Babies have no personal sins but they do have Original Sin.

If we sin willfully after Baptism (commit mortal sin), then Jesus’ sacrifice (which we receive the benefits for our souls through Baptism), no longer keeps us justified.

Good thing I did not say you worship Mary, huh? 😉

Mary IS dead. Final… end point. We live, we die. Mary was no exception. You do not get to claim she is alive when she clearly is NOT.
Then I take it you disagree with Jesus’ statements in Luke 20:27-40? Because He says pretty clearly “He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all live to him.”

That is only an excuse that is used to try and get by with conjuring of the dead whilst not feeling guilty about it considering that God declared such activities to be abominations. 🙂

And in what possible context are you asserting that asking Mary or any other saint to pray for us (which is what all prayer to saints is, asking for intercessory prayer) is “conjuring the dead.”? You want to see conjuring the dead, check out Saul having the medium at Endor bring up Samuel (I Sam. 28)

Yes! I agree as every Catholic must that the teaching of salvation history from the Garden on is that “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins” (Heb. 9:22)

But we are CLEANSED by His blood. Not just disguised. That’s why I question the phrase “covered by” and the repeated assertion that when God looks at us He does not see our sins because they are “covered by” Jesus’ blood, and so He allows us to enter His presence. I just think that is so wrong, and I hear it so often . . .

Welcome, by the way - I so value the insights of our Messianic brothers and sisters!

There is sin that cannot be forgiven. Luckily its not the same list you’d use for “mortal sin” You cant sin mortally by accident 😉 God really is very merciful!

Only mortal sins(and thus why you cant pray for that):
  1. You can deny God even in the face of extreme proof.(only you and God alone would know if proof you got was enough or not) Mark 3:22-30, Matthew 12:31-32
  2. You can repeat the same sin(s) many times until your heart is completely hardened against the Holy Spirit and you no longer care if you sin or not. Matt.13:13-15 John 12:40 1 Samuel 6;6
These are all the mortal sins.

There is sin that cannot be forgiven.
Do you know what blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is?

We certainly have a different understanding of “denying Jesus” and its consequences. John is warning that mortal sins (these cause loss of eternal life) are actually the rejection of God through sins such as idol worship (worshiping self and things) and apostasy. He is using hyperbole (exaggeration) when he says “I do not say that one is to pray for that.” However, if a person stops sinning and repents, then he will no longer be in mortal sin.

Scripture states that if we deny Him before men, then He will deny us before His Father. If He denies us before His Father, then we are not saved. Scripture also states that we can deny Him by our works, and if we do, then we are not saved.

Matthew 10:33 “But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.”

Titus 1:16 “They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.”

Matthew 7:20-23 “Therefore by their fruits you will know them. 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”

If we deny Him by our words or by our works while we are on earth, then when we die, Jesus, while He is sitting on the throne with His Father will say to us: “I never knew you.” This is what is meant by Him denying us before His Father in heaven. He denies that He knows us and we are then cast into hell.
**
Jesus only forgives our sins if we repent.** Repentance is sorrow for sin and also making a firm decision to not do this sin again. He does not automatically forgive sins each time we sin. Continuing to sin hardens our hearts and then we refuse to repent.

Luke 13:4-5 “Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

Acts 3:19 “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,”

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the sin committed by the person who claims to have a right to persist in evil–in any sin at all–and who thus rejects redemption. It is in this sense that the sin is said to be unforgivable. If you refuse to repent and be converted, then you have blasphemed against the Holy Spirit. Your temple (soul) is in a defiled state at your death and God destroys you.

1 Corinthians 3:16-18 “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. 18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.”

“Covered by the blood” of the Lamb. The words, though as far as I know are not found in the Bible (notice I put Old and New Testaments (that testify of Christ, Yeshua) together in the same Book. The blood of goats and lambs was spent in the Old Testament of Christ, to get Old Testament Christians used to the idea that, as the Book says, “The wages of sin is death.” But, God in His mercy toward us, provided for our ancient spiritual ancestors a way to recognize that their individual sins, whatever they were, had a price tag on their continuance. Thus, if one was then so moved by the sacrifice of a little innocent lamb, and saw in it’s being killed by having it’s throat slit open with a large knife and it’s blood drained out into a bucket to be splattered on the doorsteps of those who sacrificed it, understood it’s prophetic meaning, they WERE counted as saved. but they also were, at the same time called to obedience of the Law of Moses, which the pre-incarnate Christ wrote with His own finger and the rest of the Law of Moses, which is the Law of Love if anyone cares to read it.

In Revelation, 20:14, "Here are they which KEEP the COMMANDMENTS (as Christ said, All the Law and the Prophets) of God and, thereby have the faith in, and thereby the TESTIMONY of Christ (Where He now is, atoning for our daily sins with His own blood, thereby justifying us as we continue to try to seek His will in our lives, and forgiving us when we fail if we ask Him in honesty and prayer to forgive us. The testimony as indicated in the text refers to the Testimony He will give to God the Father during the final, white throne judgement after the 1,000 year millenium is past (“finished”). That final Testimony of Christ, will be the final determining act in terms of whether we are saved or not.

Any who think that they do not have to obey the full Ten Commandments, as given by God the Son, whose physical finger Moses saw (No man has seen the Father), and whose audible voice (God the Father’s voice is like the greatest sounds imaginable, but Christ’s voice to Moses, was audible and understandable by human ears) Moses heard, are only deluding themselves. It is not that the Law and the Prophets, all of which explain how God wants us to keep His Commandments, that can ever be done to earn Salvation. it is WHY, by WHOSE power of the Holy Spirit, that we can be empowered thereby to kieep His Ten Commandments.

Justification is what happens every time we turn our minds and hearts to God through intoning prayer to Christ, our High Priest, the only priest we now need since the sacrificial system of types and shadows are now gone that represented Christ’s incarnation as a human being which was sacrificed for all our daily sins. If we earnestly seek His forgiveness, "He is JUST and able to forgive us our sin(S).

The process of Sanctification is an ongoing process that usually takes a lifetime, and still we cannot judge ourselves “righteous,” as in having kept all of the Law of God. “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” There must be some sort of dual meaning to the Biblical phrase, “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” It almost seems as though whether we judge someone else, or ourselves, we are then Judged. Why? Because only God can judge us. We cannot.

It is good to not only study the Passover sedar meal, but without the animal sacrifices now done away at the cross. but to observe it, as Christ did. People say one has to go to a Temple that does not exist in Jerusalem, in order to keep the annual “Jewish” pilgrim feasts as some call them. However, they either forget, or were never taught by their churches, that Christ kept the annual festivals of convocation for almost an entire year AWAY from Jerusalem and the Temple that once existed there.

All the sacrificing is now going on in Heaven, with Christ officiating in the Most Holy Place, using His own blood in the atoning process.

Christ has given us, and because He once gave His own blood as atonement for our sins, continues to atone for our past sins and forgives us now when we fall as long as we see our errors and pray for His strength to overcome our sinful propensities, His ongoing Justification may eventually lead to a sanctified life. Faith in His ability to do that for us, is all spelled out in the annual “Jewish” feastivals of convoction, and annual sabbaths, which provide the themes of the Plan for study each Shabhat/Sabbaton.

Find an upcoming Passover sedar service near you. They are often advertised.

If we sin willfully after Baptism (commit mortal sin), then Jesus’ sacrifice (which we receive the benefits for our souls through Baptism), no longer keeps us justified.

I have a good idea of how the RCC understands water as being Baptism etc.

I do not fully understand how this part (your statement above) of Roman
Catholic doctrine is supposed to work.
Maybe you can make it more clear, after I try to present what I understand is meant by your statement:

Water Baptism by the RCC cleanses all sin, including original sin from the recipient.
It causes a new birth (spiritual regeneration) in the recipient.
The recipient is justified by Baptism.

All of the above benefits are lost (except maybe the removal of original sin), if the recipient later willingly commits a mortal sin.

Baptism can no longer be applied again to re-birth spiritually.
Baptism can no longer be used again to cleanse sin or to justify.

Jesus’ Sacrifice benefits (merits) can no longer come through Baptism, but must now be applied some other way.

😉 neither mortal sin I listed would ever be repented of, now would they?
Neither of them would be repented of if they died in them. However, you stated that “These are all the mortal sins.” This is where I disagree. Some mortal sins are adultery, fornication, murder, etc. You can repent from them.

Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
