COVID-19 Has Killed Nearly 200,000 Americans. How Many More Lives Will Be Lost Before the U.S. Gets It Right?

Time magazine. Typical leftist rag with virtually no readership, and deserves none.

It tries the old trick of saying the U.S. is No. 1 in Covid deaths because of the numbers. The numbers are highest because the U.S. has the third largest population on earth and has the ability and honesty to actually report. Anybody who believes China about anything ought to have his head examined. And we’re supposed to believe Russia, iran, Vietnam? Even India, which is rapidly catching up to the U.S. (Brazil has already passed us) has virtually no medical treatment outside the major cities. India doesn’t really know what it’s numbers are.

And some European countries are into a “second wave”. If Covid becomes endemic, which it probably already is, self-isolation like that of New Zealand will only make a difference temporarily. They can get “herd immunity” slowly or more quickly. But one way or another, that’s what will happen.

Testing is a particular problem in the U.S. because we cannot (unlike South Korea, for example) identify those with the disease and isolate them socially because of HIPAA. If someone gets symptomatic and gets tested positive, the health authorities can’t publish that person’s name and he/she is free to go about the community among unknowing people. Many people don’t get tested. A physician I know who works in a big hospital says the doctors there won’t get tested even if they get symptoms because they would be “off line” for two weeks, and they just stay on the job if they don’t get too symptomatic, and do the best they can with washing and masks.

And it should be acknowledged that this administration had virtually no equipment because the previous administration wouldn’t buy any and sold a good part of what it had when the SARS pandemic seemed to recede.

But while almost nobody has a “better idea” than those which Trump, Fauci, Birx and others had, it’s a political dagger to point at Trump for now.

Call me a pessimist. At this point I think it may be endemic on the USA.

… disgusting how MSM flaunts lies and twists truths

Tonight, my household committed to NOT watch MSM…especially evening news on ABC, NBC and CBS. Most of the stories are unabashed jabs at President Trump. Tonight, NBC decided it was more important to first take a punch of words at our President rather than talk about the deadly fires raging on the west coast.

The CDC warned sometime earlier this year that up 200K would die by summer’s end if the majority of people didn’t obey recommended precautions. We are approaching the end of summer and I could see in news pictures, social media and first hand views that large areas of the population were not social distancing or wearing masks. Guess what? The number is nearing 200K and summer is almost over.

Ah but Trump stated that if the number held at below 100,000, then Trump would have recognized it as doing a good job.

Even when you factor in the population, the US is near the bottom among developed nations.

Whenever the data is inconvenience, deny the data.
(Brazil has already passed us)
And they’ve got Bolsonaro - another Trump.

Or they get herd immunity through a vaccine. But that requires staying alive long enough to get it.

So, what did the Trump administration do in the two years before the pandemic hit? Didn’t anybody look in the storeroom to see if it was empty?
But while almost nobody has a “better idea” than those which Trump, Fauci, Birx and others had
Don’t lump them all together. The medical professionals did have ideas, but Trump didn’t promote them. In fact he worked actively against them.

The Trump administration can be faulted for not seeing it, though less for not realizing much of it was defective. The administration most to blame is that of Obama/Biden, which blew it off after the SARS threat receded, and even sold some of the material .

Your bias. No facts.

Looking at WorldOMeters, the death rate is now 2.9%. The last time I checked a month or so ago, it was 3.4%. The death rate is coming down. It’s going to be ok. Be careful. Be safe. Trust in God.

Thanks for posting this clarification.
It is a political year, soooooo the Dems must make this virus as dire as possible, hanging all the blame on Trump.
Hopefully ,people will see through this latest sham.

No doubt. Most reason is thrown out the window due to hatred formed from intense and obtuse opinions of Trump.

And then there’s common sense that is thrown out to to maintain the hate…

Speaking of common sense…
Masks and Aeresols… Dr Ted Noel…

“deeply ingrained cultural attitudes about individuality”

In so many aspects, this single thing will be the ruin of the greatness of the USA.
