My daughter is getting married in June and only 10 people are allowed to be present (this includes bride, groom & Priest). We will not be able to have any musicians. Will an exception be made to use a recording for the procession/recession? Or is this up to the priest celebrating?

Well, everything is flexible at this point. I doubt that the wedding would be opened to say, 300, but the issue is being decided on a whole series of issues, some of which we have not yet reached - and then it may vary diocese to diocese.

The rule of 10 appears to be current rule in a number of areas. June is somewhere between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 months away depending on the date of the wedding.

As to music, people on the internet don’t make final decisions. Assuming for the moment that there might be a rule somewhere granting it, it is still up to the pastor.

In my archdiosis all weddings are postponed period. Doors to church are locked and no one is allowed in, so I’m happy she can at leats have ten people (as of today).

I was just wondering if any “offical” guideline had been handed down that I was not aware of and someone in the know may have heard. Guess its a wait and see for all of it.

Or is this up to the priest celebrating?
Yes, it would be up to the priest. It’s certainly worth asking.

Although, a lot will happen between now and June. In my diocese all weddings are postponed, but there is no end date. It’s sort of a day-by-day, week-by-week thing at the moment.
