COVID just hit my friend's nursing home, please pray (Update: 37 cases of COVID at the home, please continue to pray)

Thank you to all who pray on this thread. I pray for all of you and your intentions as well.

I have had an update from the nursing home. They now have 7 cases of COVID. They had to move my friend to a different room as they turned the hallway she was on into an isolation ward of some sort. She has not gotten COVID (Thank God). No one can visit anyone in there; even the hospice care staff who normally visit my friend cannot go in except for one nurse, and that’s only allowed because the federal law requires that a person from hospice has to physically see her every 2 weeks.

There are other levels to this mess that I will not post about on here but please continue to pray for my friend (Who was a devout Catholic her whole life), the nursing home patients and staff, and me that I am able to cope with this situation including the other stuff I’m not posting about. Continued prayers. The risk of transmission of any communicable disease is so much higher in nursing and assisted living facilities.

Thank you to all who have been praying for this intention.

As of today the nursing home has 37 cases of COVID (29 patients and 8 staff) and all the patients are being kept in their rooms. My friend is not sick, but apparently hasn’t been tested either as they’re only testing patients who show symptoms (except for their “memory care” unit which she was not on). Apparently a lot of the positives were asymptomatic.

I have no idea how many deaths they have had, they have been trying to keep the whole mess under wraps and it just hit the newspaper in the last few days causing more hassle for me to deal with.

Please continue to pray for this situation and all involved and for all the other nursing homes affected. Believe me I am praying for it every day and just asking God to help me get through this situation.
