Coworker Returning to the Mission Field

My coworker, Donald, and his wife, Carol, were protestant missionaries in South America and will be returning to the mission field soon. He Carol have two kids: Daniel and Cora. Please pray for the family as they return to South America. Donald’s last day of work was today and they’re leaving August 3rd. Pray for traveling mercies, the children’s adjustment to the move, and the private school where Carol will start work soon. I’m not sure what Donald’s duties will be but I know that he might be working with several churches in the area. There is a praise in that Carol’s new job will be providing the family with a fully furnished apartment. Daniel and Cora are both bilingual as a result of spending their earlier years in paraguay so the language barrier won’t be a huge problem. The big adjustment for them will be leaving friends and grandparents.

As a deacon merely along for the trip with your bishop to install a new bishop in the Roman capital Ravenna, the Pope was so impressed by you that he named you the Bishop of Ravenna instead. In your day you shot down heresies, evangelized the surrounding pagans, built many churches, and cared especially for the poor.

We ask you to pray that we may show the same zeal for Christ that you did, that we may lead simple and humble lives, and educate the people around us on what it means to be truly Christian. We especially ask you to pray for Donald and Carol, who are going back to their missionary work in a foreign country. Remember them and all other posters in your prayers this day. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, watch over Your missionaries – priests, religious, and lay people – who leave everything to give testimony to your word and your love. We pray especially for the missionary family in the OP’s post, Donald and Carol and their children Daniel and Cora.
