Coworker's Son Stabbed

My coworker’s son got stabbed early sunday morning. His name is Abi. Please pray that he recovers quickly and the perpetrators are brought to justice. One man was arrested but they still have yet arraign him. My coworker’s son is home but has a long road of recovery ahead of him. The stab wound damaged his lungs.
 
Dear Jesus, I pray now for healing and justice for Abi. In your mercy please let him fully recover and give strength to him and his family during this difficult time. Thank you for letting him survive the terrible attack, now please send your Holy Spirit so he can heal without lasting trauma or anxiety and regain the full use of his lungs. In Jesus’ Name I humbly pray. Amen.

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Abi). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Abi’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

There are many things that can lead
to violence, some called for but a lot
of them are NOT called for. A pan-
handler was roughed up outside our
church as we were having a mass
Sunday.

Prayer After an Experience of Violence…

I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. (Matt 5:43)

Lord, I come to You wounded and in pain; violence has been done to me. I am in need of healing; of Your gentle touch, Your tender voice and compassionate heart, Help me to transform my pain into new life.

Give me the strength and courage to live life vigorously again and to not be afraid of stranger or friend. Turn my despair into hope, my hate into love and my anger into joy.

Let me seek to be reconciled with those who have caused me harm. Help me to forgive, as You forgave. Help me to love my enemies and pray for those who have persecuted me. Bring justice and peace to the lives of those who have done me harm. Let them see Your face and feel the warmth of Your love so that they may never injure another.

Lord we pray for Your mercy and compassion, We live in troubled times, and the answers to our problems are not simple or easy. Send Your Spirit upon us to strengthen our resolve to root out the violence, hate, and fear in our lives. Replace it with Your forbearance and love. Create in us hearts of courage, grace us with the ability to stand against the violence of our day: the violence in ourselves, our homes, streets and communities. In your name we pray, Amen.
