I really am overdue for a Bible video scripture instruction on the Mass. From one of the experts like Scott Hahn I guess.
As I mouthed the words to the creed this morning “Light from light, true God from true God, begotten but not made, one in being from the Father”, I realised how robotic I have become at Mass. Thousands of Masses since childhood have hypnotised me into a mind-numbing trance.
Renewal! So important for us. To make those words come alive.
I think it is important for us to find different ways of saying the same thing, so we don’t fall asleep.
Like a book I was reading recently called “Mere Catholicism” by Ian Ker. He wrote “God wants to transplant His heart into ours.”
That kind of woke me up. The analogy used of the transplant. Like a fresh perspective on the same idea. I need more of this kind of writing in order to renew my faith every day.
The Mass will be a slightly different issue as those words are set in stone. Guess I need to look at the same words in a different way.
