I suggest posting these one by one in Apologetics and Sacred Scripture, to be answered separately. They have all been addressed many times in widely available books etc. though. I can hardly believe they are still getting trotted out. It’s mostly a context/translation issue.

An atheist/agnostic friend of mine sent me this and since I don’t have much time to answer, I thought I’d post here and see what you all thought.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. You can compare atheists attempts at theology, to a 7th-grade student, trying to comprehend and apply Einstein’s theory of relativity…
Not possible.

And quite frankly: If this is the best they’ve got, I certainly will lose no sleep over it…

That is the point of those lists. To overwhelm you with questions, so that you don’t answer them. Answer them one at a time, at your leisure.

Tell him the first one is dumb since it speaks to two different peoples of specific times.

ISRAEL

Jeremiah 3:12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.

JUDAH

Jeremiah 16:3 For thus saith the LORD concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land;

Jeremiah 17:1 The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

Jeremiah 17:4 And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.

That website is a cheap shot at our faith.

We could spend days answering that website; I doubt they would be interested in listening.

I would challenge them to come to the apologetics forum, and ask one question at a time, and ask them to be patient to listen to the responses.

They’re trying to divert attention from the truth that embarasses them; Jesus Christ died for our sins.
