Why did God create the plants, fish, birds, and mamals?
Usually I hear the question of why God created man … With the answer to serve and know Him as the answer.

But for me to grasp the creation of life, I would like to explore why God created all life forms. Thanks for sharing your view to help me expand my view.

God created all the varied forms of life for reasons of his own we are never really to know for certain. With hindsight it appears that one reason might be the complementarity of each to all and all to each.

Why did God create the plants, fish, birds, and mamals?
From my studies of God, the reason why God creates plants, fish, birds, and mammals is to give us freedom from God’s friendship, while giving us the assistance to guide us back to friendship with God.

A couple examples of how creation of plants, fish, birds, and mammals serves both purposes:
  1. The freedom from God’s friendship can be obtained through perceiving the possibility of complex life forms forming from non-living existence.
  2. God’s assistance in guiding us back can be perceived in the universality of all life forms:
All life forms have needs. Freer life forms have wants. When life forms get what is needed, the life forms experience contentment. When life forms get what is wanted, the life forms experience joy.
Therefore, the universal pinnacle of any living being is getting everything needed and an unlimited number of wants fulfilled for the experience of unbreakable peace with unending joy AKA God’s Heavenly Kingdom.
Thanks for sharing the interesting question! I look forward to further discussion.

I think for our needs and use; and for our pleasure.Genesis 2:9 And out of the ground the LORD God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, …

It is a joy for me to imagine what God’s thoughts might have been as He decided what He would create to “decorate” the world He would place us in.

A very nice thought. Thanks for that. 👍

I believe He created all things out of love and for our benefit and learning. Everything has a purpose and in some way contributes to life that it can be complete and full. Imagine life without contrasts of night and day, light and dark, cold and hot, fish, birds, trees, shade, the sweet smell of flowers and the buzz of honey bees.

God “knew us” before we were conceived, and certainly he loved us enough to provide all that we could ever need, or want. Our life here is limited and maybe we need these other creations to learn about our Creator and to know Him better.

Just watch Animal Planet, ANIMALS ARE AWESOME!
Even God in Genesis again and again said (or saw, thought?) that it was “Good.”

star dust – micro-organisms – plants – animals – man – angels = pretty amazing!!
…I…
…Word…

…Holy Spirit – Father…

All life surely includes not only all living creatures and plants but creatures and plants which are yet to be discovered and also bacteria, germs and such, all the weird little things that nobody even notices. Though I don’t understand the point in things such as fleas or head lice!

To serve man, the high point of His creation, with the ultimate intention of bringing all of creation into perfection.

What does the master (man) of the servents (all living beings) owe for the serves rendered?

I tend to think that God created because it was God’s Nature to create. ‘He’ couldn’t help himself. To be God, to have the characteristics that God would have to have in order to qualify as God, it would be impossible to exist alone, inactive, passive, static, motionless, undirected, purposeless, lifeless. One aspect of the Nature of God is Life. One aspect of the nature of life is that it “reproduces.” So God, by his very nature, irresistably moved to reproduce in his own image, both directly and indirectly. That would be like paragraph ‘a’ of heading ‘1’ of section ‘A’ of chapter ‘I’ of volume ‘1’ of The World Encyclopedia of God’s Nature. 🙂

Yes, an aspect of life is that it reproduces, but this is the middle of life (as it has been revealed to us). We (mammels) create after puberty, and before menopause. Since it’s the union of man and women. Statistically, the creation and care of creation is less than 25% of an average human experience. In other animals, it can be less significant. So, with all this extra time, what does the creation of all living things tie in with God?

That has always been my belief. When very young my group was taught because God was lonely. It may sound stupid to some but I have feeling it isn’t far from the truth. If the universe is eternal, it was once empty. God created to fill the emptiness a bit.

If that sounds juvenile, I apologize, but which of us, given the ability to create, wouldn’t?

“Extra time,” Giggly?

If you mean, “What else is there to do but eat, drink, and make Mary,” I would say, like God, be creative, expand your character, fellowship, serve others, give unconditional (not indiscriminate) love, comfort the lonely, encourage the good, be patient and wise and study - “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

"Roots of the Spirit which lead to Fruits of the Spirit."

Hopefully this is not too out of place: “Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins. Therefore, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.
Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you.”
