tell that to all of God’s creatures driven to extinction by human encroachment…i’ll respect your opinion if you will respect my right to differ.
The idea that humans may have driven a couple species to extinction does not necessarily imply that humans are overpopulating the planet. In fact the Dodo and Passenger pigeon, just to take two examples, were done in not by any kind of overpopulation, but by human exploration and colonization. It doesn’t matter how few humans were part of that deal, the simple fact is that there were more coming in to an area than had been there previously. The very fact that humans were able to expand and thrive in landmasses such as North America and Australia indicates that these lands have plenty of capacity to sustain human life far beyond their sparse native populations as they were before European discovery.

But children in poor families are more likely to suffer from malnutrition and a lack of education opportunities. Both of those can prevent a potential genius from reaching the goal.
I was raised for I am NOT a genius though and my mother was on artificial contraceptives when I was conceived my IQ is what is called high average or there abouts both parents were geniuses though my Mother still is occasionally

And supposedly they have no way of getting it out!! Maybe that’s why our young girls are maturing much younger than they used to. Who knows what the consequences will be in years to come. At least they had sense enough to get rid of DDT when they realized the harm of it. Dear GOD have Mercy on us!!! God Bless. Memaw
I’m pretty sure most of the drop is due to increased fat accumulation

What’s the problem with species becoming extinct?

This is the same idea that Margaret Sanger had. She noted that rich families had fewer children and poor ones more, so she leaped to the conclusion that fewer children meant more wealth. However, it also means fewer geniuses are born. Mensa is a society of the top 2% in IQ. Obviously, if you limit the population, you will have fewer smart people who can solve problems, like curing diseases. There have been 60 million babies aborted since Roe v. Wade. That means 1.2 million geniuses were not allowed a chance to benefit mankind.
The problem with the genius argument is that it can go both ways. In fact, someone proposed that the fall in crimes could be attributed to the rise in abortion rates in the 1970s and 80s. The worth of a person is determijed neither by the wealth he holds nor by his IQ level.

ETA: Tried to look up the book but couldn’t find it. But there is a surprising number of results for searching abortion increase crime reduction  And it was apparently mentioned in Chapter 4 of Freakonomics.
