Hi all,

Recently due to dysmenorrhea (terrible menstrual cramps) I learned about the Creighton method and have had a Pap smear with a new Creighton Dr and find it interesting. (Used Sympto-thermo method before)

However, unless the doctor messed things up, I got the results from my test saying I have Chlamydia.

Previous to my marriage, its my 1st marriage, I was not sexually active. Before me, my husband was sexually active with several partners and didn’t want an STD check before marriage. Rather stupidly I chose to trust him and not push the issue.

Now I am wondering if my husband has been cheating recently or this could have been dormant in his system for over 7 years? Earlier in our marriage I had the typical Gnyno exams and never had any stds.

This time the doctor said I had Cervical Erosion and the paper came in the mail telling me I have Chlamydia. I have no reason to believe my husband is cheating, but now I am not sure. Please share some advice, especially if you are a doctor or nurse or work in the healthfield.

God Bless you and thank you for your time!

This is from the Center of Disease Control, hope it helps. Get your husband to a doctor and have him tested and treated and abstain from relations until both of you are disease free or you will reinfect each other. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is an outcome and possible sterility if it is not treated. So while this is common, it is also necessary.

Have a heart to heart with your husband as well. You might both need to see a Catholic counselor or go on a Retrovaille retreat if one is available if he has been unfaithful. You are in my prayers.
