- The current roman canon’s epiclesis is weak, but present, using a synonym for the Holy Spirit. The Anaphora of Addai and Mari has an implicit institution narrative, but no “this is my body”/“This is my blood”… In the case of OF EP1, it’s several paragraphs in length… as shown here; the EF epiclesis includes an explicit invocation, “Veni, Sanctificator omnipotens aeterne Deus: et bene dic hoc sacrificum tuo sancto nomini praeparatum.” (copied from here
