When or is it ok to Criticise the clergy and what does scripture say?
The clergy are our pastors. They are shepherds and we are the flock. We are to submit to them in spiritual matter. That would be in an ideal world where everybody plays their roles correctly. When or is it ok to Criticise the clergy and what does scripture say?
this would be a great time to put in a plug for reading the Bible… 'The Bible in a Year" from Ascension Press, is one example. When or is it ok to Criticise the clergy and what does scripture say?
I blame attitudes like that for leading to the cover up of heinous crimes so I totally disagree.Avoid saying or writing things which lead to a weakening of others’ faith in God.

Me too. I get an uneasy feeling in my stomach when I see or hear it. I’m also super uncomfortable with the amount of casusl complaining I see on here about people’s parish priests and worse how combative some people have been with actual clergy who were willing to come post here.I’m somewhat disturbed at the amount of criticism aimed at Pope Francis
And many of them had enough of it and moved on. These forums are worse off as a result.worse how combative some people have been with actual clergy who were willing to come post here.
Sometimes public constructive criticism is warranted. Especially when someone from the clergy is speaking publicly and says something that is not in line with church teaching or that could lead the faithful astray. Like many have already stated on here, one should be respectful and tactful. Calling a priest out during mass is not the best time to start a discussion on the matter. It public criticism that bothers me the most. Particularly when it’s aimed at the Holy Father Pope Francis. Private grievances dealt with in the proper manner yes. Public criticism does nothing but harm. I think it can also lead the young and impressionable in the wrong direction…
