Croatia Holocaust

I’m corresponding with an anti-Catholic who sent me a certain video that, of course, makes the Vatican look evil. It discussed Hitler, Mussolini, etc… I’ve looked into all the accusations, found that this video (suprise, surprise) did a lot of misrepresentation. The only think I could not find was details regarding the Franciscan Friars participation in the Croatian holocaust. Most of the sources I found for it were anti-Catholic. The ones that weren’t biased had little information.

Anyone familiar with this issue and the Pope’s stance at the time? Why the Church didn’t say/do anything about it until “it was too late,” (or at least, “late enough”)?

There is a lot of damning evidencet agains the Church, and a lot of good evidence for the Church. I dont think we can truely judge the actions of someone who is stuck between those 2 forces of the time.
