In a culture that eats up muder, gore, and everything macabre, why is the crucifix banished from our schools, hospitals, and colleges?
I don’t think it is about the macabre. I think it is the fact that it is religious, period. In a culture that eats up muder, gore, and everything macabre, why is the crucifix banished from our schools, hospitals, and colleges?
Because it is Catholic. In a culture that eats up muder, gore, and everything macabre, why is the crucifix banished from our schools, hospitals, and colleges?
Well, I’m sure Catholic schools are allowed to have them. I don’t think they really had any place in the clasrooms of my old public high school. If someone wanted to bring one in as part of devotion during prayer time, I can’t see that being a problem. In a culture that eats up muder, gore, and everything macabre, why is the crucifix banished from our schools, hospitals, and colleges?
In Italy you can see crucifixes in stores, restaurants, and everywhere else you can imagine. It’s one of my favorite things about visiting Italy. It’s nice to visit a country where your Catholic faith is in the forefront of society. In countries that are traditionally Catholic in Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal), it is still possible to see Crucifixes in public schools and hospitals. However, laicist in the last decades laws have tried, and to a certain extent managed, to remove them.
