Crying sound of soul

My friend (now my godson) just passed away on last Sat night. Last night(Sun) I heard the deep crying/ weeping sound of a male voice near my room for three times, I was staying in my room last night.

That scared me, because that was audible voice, the sound look like my friend voice. Immediately I think that I need to pray for his soul as he may be in purgatory now. I was the only catholic friend in his life.

That scare me to death when I heard those voice.

Did anyone have similar experience? Is that the voice of my friend’s soul? he is in purgatory waiting for my prayers? Or I heard wrongly?
 
Catechism of the Catholic Church says that we should always be praying for those who have gone before us, primarily for their benefit, but also for our own…
Communion with the dead. "In full consciousness of this communion of the whole Mystical Body of Jesus Christ, the Church in its pilgrim members, from the very earliest days of the Christian religion, has honored with great respect the memory of the dead; and 'because it is a holy and a wholesome thought to pray for the dead that they may be loosed from their sins’ she offers her suffrages for them."498 Our prayer for them is capable not only of helping them, but also of making their intercession for us effective.

The fact is we simply do not have full assurance of their eternal fate unless it be personally revealed to us by God, or declared so by the Church. Thus we should always, always, always pray for the dead --especially those dead whom we loved dearly in this life.

We should never make the mistake that “Such and such was an extremely holy person. They surely are in Heaven and do not need my prayers!”

It is possible that God allows a suffering soul to appear before you to ask for your prayers. I know many people who claim this has happened to them. In fact, my uncle once saw a family relative of ours in a dream a few days after her funeral. She and he were both standing alone at her fresh grave, and he asked her what she wanted. She straight up said “Your prayers” and he said “Fine”

After a month of praying, he had the same dream again. When he asked her what she wanted this time, she simply replied “To say thank you.” He said “Glad I could help” and woke up.

If you really believe your friend has visited you in some way to ask for prayers, happily oblige! For any other occurrences, seek guidance from a priest.

Yes, most people do not talk about it unless they are comfortable with the person they speak to.

Yes, I have - and I know many other have had similar experiences.
Most likely, yes it is your Godson. It doesn’t matter really because you’re his God Mother and you really should be praying for him anyway.
Have a Mass offered ASAP
Pray the prayer for the repose of a soul - many times.
Have a candle offered
Ask Our Lady and St. Joseph (patron of a happy death) to pray for him - asking Our Lord to bring him to Glory, through purgatory.
Pray to the Angeles - St Michael and others, to deliver him quickly.
Your friend is calling you – and he will be your good friend in heaven (he’s already in salvation - we hope). Don’t be afraid. This is a good thing. The souls in Purgatory need our help, and in turn, they become our helpers also. Your friend can pray for you and help you on your journey of faith.
Keep praying for him every day - even when he arrives in Heaven, you can magnify his glory by remembering him to God, giving him the increased blessing of being his friend on earth. In this way, we’re never alone.
This is a blessing and a sign of God’s closeness to you - that you experienced that crying. It’s a cry of love - yes, in pain, but it’s a heart being cleansed and desiring God so much that it hurts. That’s purification. It doesn’t mean he was a bad person - when we get too attached to worldly things, as most of us do too much, and if we don’t give 110% 🙂 of our love to God, as most of us don’t, on earth - we will go through that purifying process.
Your friend is helping you also - you can avoid Purgatory completely, and his cries can help you do that - and your charitable prayers for him are a great way in themselves.
Oh yes - don’t forget Plenary Indulgences which you can offer every day!
One of those, if God applies it to your friend (and we don’t know who He will give it to, but we can ask) - will release your friend immediately!
We walk way from these incredible treasures every day, most of us Catholics, not even caring that all Purgatory is removed with one Plenary Indulgence.
Most of us don’t even know how to get one - and don’t care enough to learn and actually do it.
But here’s a great chance!
So …
This is all good news – yes, a bit scary, but a very good thing in the end.👍

An Unpublished Manuscript on Purgatory:

We will quote only one example from the life of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. She says: "When I was praying before the Blessed Sacrament on the feast of Corpus Christi, a person enveloped in fire suddenly stood before me. From the pitiable state the soul was in, I knew it was in Purgatory and I wept bitterly. This soul told me it was that of a Benedictine, who had once heard my confession and ordered me to go to Holy Communion. As a reward for this, God permitted him to ask me to help him in his sufferings.

I have had a few experiences. When my mother died in 1990, she seemed to be talking to me one night, after I had done the laundry and fell asleep. It seemed she was giving me a “pep talk,” because she knew I was terribly upset that she had died the month before of lung cancer. She did not seem unhappy. She just said I should go on with my life and not to be so sad. I honestly tried, but it was hard.

A few weeks later, she spoke to my husband. He said he thought it was a dream She appeared as if in light, and he said that she told him our daughter would have a beautiful baby. We told our daughter, and she and her mother in law began to cry. I later found out that a doctor had told her she could never have children. Nine years later she had a baby boy.
