Read the OP’s other posts. A no sugar world is his crusade…I think he’s taking it too far. Yes, we should be moderate in our diets and in doing so we are respecting the bodies God has given us. However, having a birthday cake with sugar in it is NOT intrinsically evil…and I don’t think it’s exactly honest of him to put this new spin on the evils of sugar. Sugar is not evil. Abuse of sugar can be sinful. Using sugar is not. Eating foods with sugar will not cause infertility. Eating any kind of food in excess (leading to obesity) can cause fertility problems…not just sugar!

It’s probably like a number of things (alcohol, tobacco for instance) - if the detrimental effects had been known before they became universally used, they’d have been as illegal today as heroin.

The sugar problem isn’t the odd piece of cake, it’s its addictive nature and the fact that it’s used so much in the manufacture of such a huge range of foodstuffs - one of the principal causes of the obesity pandemic. Eating any kind of food too often means ‘eating any kind of food plus sugar used in the manufacture of such food to make it more appealing to children’.

Trouble is, now I’m starting to sound like the OP!

I agree with your thoughts on this - and it is REALLY hard to cut out ALL sugar. You essentially cannot eat anything manufactured/processed/bought in a store whatsoever.

It’s possible, but very difficult if you’re cooking for other people, have to eat out or on the run, etc.

I do think sugar is diabolical, and wish I’d never started eating it (until I was 12, the most we had was sesame sticks and plum balls at easter, and a tiny piece of homemade fudge at christmas).

I got that it’s a conspiracy to keep us from over populating the earth. Selling soda or anything high in sugar keeps people from being in the “mood”.

Population control.

Terrible thing is if you have anything with sugar it makes you want more sugar. Something that I read, somewhere.

Sugar the new Heroin. ( does Heroin decrease sex drive?)

I’ve got a roll of foil if anyone’s feeling the need for hats.

I understand the concern of the OP, but since the Industrial Revolution caused a massive unprecedented increase in the world’s population, I highly doubt that the new (admittedly less healthy) diet was a plot to kill us all or destroy our fertility.

I don’t think it’s paranoia to believe that profit maximization in the food industry means that long term health concerns may not be of primary concern.

Actually, it was improvements in public health systems (clean water, sanitation etc) that made the real difference (huge drop in infant mortality, for example, long before the German chemical industry’s desire for better dyes started the modern pharmaceutical industry) and the ‘agrarian revolution’ that provided the food.
I highly doubt that the new (admittedly less healthy) diet was a plot to kill us all or destroy our fertility.
Perhaps “collateral damage” might be a better term?

Do you know what a “conspiracy” is? If it’s a conspiracy, it’s intentional and is being orchestrated by someone.

Who, exactly is orchestrating this conspiracy?

That’s not something I denied. Believe me, I’m a hippie at heart. I won’t disagree with anyone who says that the food industry does not have its customers’ health as a priority.

All parts of the overall increase in technology and drastic lifestyle switch that made up the Industrial Revolution. Don’t forget, the invention of farming machinery that drastically increased productivity is part of the Industrial Revolution(as well as methods to distribute the products ).

There are huge flaws in the modern pharmaceutical industry(especially in America. Prescription drugs should not at any time have TV ads. It is a disgusting idea) but there’d be a heck of a lot more people dying without it.

Fine with me. I already said that the new diet is unhealthy. I just don’t think anyone caused that on purpose.

**This whole argument is absurd!

If sugar leads to infertility, then why do so many MANY couples get pregnant on diets FILLED with massive amounts of sugar and carbohydrates? Why would only a “chosen” few be affected? Wouldn’t at least a significant portion of the high sugar/high carb eating population be affected? 🤷

Infertility problems affect about about one sixth to a quarter of the population (depending on the source.) Not 5/6 or 3/4 And I can guarantee that the 5/6**** or 3/4**** of Americans are NOT eating healthy, sugar free, carb free diets. Not even a good majority of those 5/6 or 3/4.

People can link any two things, make a convincing story, give a few seemingly alarming statistics, and throw in an MD or PhD or two for good measure.

You could also argue that standing on your head while wiggling your toes, touching your nose, and blinking your left eye causes infertility.

I agree with “Kevinsgirl”'s post. It is not any one food that links to infertility, but an over consumption of any (or all) of them in any given diet.

Only if a person is using abortifacients, contraceptives , drugs, or alcohol, ect. to purposely injure, kill, or prevent life from forming is there a moral issue.

This, again, is absurd, and a smack in the face to those who have real infertility issues. 😦

More of my weak ideas, wish I could be more clear, sorry again, thank you to those who saw some good in my feeble attempts to be a health advocate. I hope only to have one more child a healthier child. This is what I wish for, the world without sugar can wait.

Natural Infertility is not one of my issues, I pray for you as it is a terrible burden when so many throw their fertility away, you could be great advocates asking publically to have more children. Only you know what someone who shuns children will feel like in the end.

The self administered infertility by BC pills under a mantle of half truths and which only happened to some people after mind altering substances. I hate this evil, not any person, as it was inflicted on them under a clever disguise. I and they lost our future and I won’t rest until the world knows; he may have captured and fooled me but not one more needs to fall into the same traps while, I have breath.

If anyone believes in the devil then he probably fits the mastermind idea perfectly.

Some greedy people who saw money in food stripped of fiber etc. may have worked for him or been just super greedy and didn’t know they worked for him.

Great idea to have some lawsuits for health care or tax the tobacco, alcohol and sugar industry for health care costs then many health care problems will start to disappear. The profits go to the people affected.

One thing that convinces me this was a devilish plot is the connection between sugar cane and slavery. Great movie, Amazing Grace.

Now to end with the Good news JPII have no fear. Jesus I have overcome the world.

Satan big gasp was the culture of death. But then the Popes saw right through the disguise and saved us all.

Christ is in the Eucharist.
