Curious...how do you guys meditate on the Rosary mysteries?

I have a couple of little booklets on the Rosary, and one of them is a Scriptural Rosary. I’ll have to find them and start using them again.

What a great way to meditate on the 4th and 5th Glorious Mysteries! I’ll have to try that.

For the 5th Glorious Mystery, I would probably meditate on the titles of Mary in the Litany of Loreto. Seat of Wisdom and Mystical Rose are some of my favorite titles for her.

Glad that you found my suggestion useful. 🙂

Oh, and I forgot to mention that for the 4th Sorrowful Mystery I pray the first 10 Stations of the Cross.

I like using the Expert Mode for each day/mystery from this website. Mentally reading each line while physically saying the Hail Mary’s has really helped me to stay on track.

A while back, I took on a project of pulling roughly 2 1/2 minute clips from movies like The Passion of the Christ, Mary of Nazareth, The Nativity Story, etc. to make a video to watch while praying the rosary. I just couldn’t create it to my satisfaction, but I would still love to be able to pull up something like this on YouTube (no sound) to watch while praying the Rosary. There are a lot of individual video clips for each mystery out there, but I don’t want the distraction of clicking. I want to start the video and let it play (timed just right) while I pray.

I love reading all of the other suggestions! I will be trying several of them.

Yeah I’m rubbish, cannot meditate, cannot even hold the image of the mystery in my head, mind constantly wanders and I yawn a lot lol.

What I’ve started doing is taking something from the mystery and saying it after every Hail Mary, so e.g. The Agony in the Garden, I’d say “Jesus sweat blood for our sins”, Carrying of the Cross, “Jesus help me carry my cross like you did”. Try to keep my mind focused on the mysteries.

I hear you about the distractions. I have some really nasty ones that I have to try to turn my mind from. It’s hard. And I can’t hold an image in my mind for more than a second or two. It flickers and is gone.

Sometimes I try to focus on the prayer itself, but usually I try to focus on the Mystery. Often it’s like an image or video in my head. I used to try to think of theological insights while praying the Rosary, but I don’t think I’ve done that for a while.
