Curious Query; Is The Supernatural Domain Of Hell In Vicinity Of The Earth?

Perhaps this is a stupid query but when the Great War broke out of heaven and naturally God and His Good angels threw Lucifer (Satan) and all his minions out of heaven. Scripture begins in Genesis about the allegory story of Adam and Eve and how the Serpent was lurking in the garden to temp Eve to eat of the fruit of the Forbidden Tree of Knowledge.

Before going on it seems unclear if Satan was sent directly to this earth after he was extradited permanently from heaven. The Domain of Hell is a supernatural domain yet Satan and his demons have influence by temptation on human weakness in this earthly domain as we see in Genesis. Yet; in another place in scripture, (sorry for jumping around) in the story of Lazarus where it states in Luke Chapter 16: 25-26 drbo.org/chapter/49016.htm

[25] And Abraham said to him: Son, remember that thou didst receive good things in thy lifetime, and likewise Lazarus evil things, but now he is comforted; and thou art tormented. [26] And besides all this, between us and you, there is fixed a great chaos: so that they who would pass from hence to you, cannot, nor from thence come hither.

I’m assuming this chasm or chaos being spoken of in Luke is a set domain apart from this world. Its a puzzling mystery how Satan whether he is in the domain of Hell can have influence on this world as seen in opening chapters of Genesis.

As I said in the beginning of this post it may be a stupid question but I wonder just how close earth is to Hell?

Though different meaning in reference how many have made statement living in this world of suffering a living hell at times. Note: I’m not confusing suffering in this world with the eternal suffering of souls in the supernatural domain of Hell.

Saint Augustine goes on to explain:
What then, does the devil not tempt at all the minds of believers? Indeed, he never ceases to tempt them. But it is one thing to reign within, another to lay siege from without.

CCC: CCC: 395 The power of Satan is, nonetheless, not infinite. He is only a creature, powerful from the fact that he is pure spirit, but still a creature. He cannot prevent the building up of God’s reign. Although Satan may act in the world out of hatred for God and his kingdom in Christ Jesus, and although his action may cause grave injuries - of a spiritual nature and, indirectly, even of a physical nature- to each man and to society, the action is permitted by divine providence which with strength and gentleness guides human and cosmic history. It is a great mystery that providence should permit diabolical activity, but “we know that in everything God works for good with those who love him.”

Perhaps Hell is reserved for the end of time for Satan and his demons and those who sinfully reject God in their profound sins on that Great Day of Judgement.

In Genesis Chapter 3 makes reference to a Woman who will Crush the head of Satan and destroy him.

[14] And the Lord God said to the serpent: Because thou hast done this thing, thou art cursed among all cattle, and beasts of the earth: upon thy breast shalt thou go, and earth shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.** [15] I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.**

When I was a kid, I used to think that hell was somewhere underground, but I had to get away from that line of thinking, because I’d get nervous when my dad was out in the yard digging trees or doing something else that involved digging holes in the ground: I was afraid the devils would come out of the hole if he went too deep!

These days, I think of hell as a kind of parallel Earth: ie, an alternate version of the world that we know, except that it’s, well, hellish: looks like a nuclear blast happened, roads are all torn up, houses are demolished, trees are dead, demons lurking around every corner, etc.

I was similar in thought when I was a kid.

However; what you describe as Hell makes it sound similar to the movie sequels “Resident Evil”

The reality of Hell is much far worse than being tormented for eternity by Satan and his demons. The greatest torment in Hell is being without God and knowing you could have done something to mitigate your reason for being in Hell. The torment will be eternally so unspeakably intense and painful that such a soul will begin to hate God for being there.

I could even imagine wanting to spend my eternity like that. Scary is not a vocabulary word that adequately describes Hell.
